Responsible for recording and disseminating information related to accounts receivable and cash payments. Reconcile and analyze Accounts Receivable (AR) or other General Ledger (GL) accounts.

RESPONSIBILITIES (Specific areas of responsibility include but are not limited to):

Assist in timely and accurate invoicing and cash receipts posting. Responsible for ensuring information processed through accounts receivable is documented, approved and in a format that can be processed.  Coach and train AR processors when discrepancies are discovered.  Analyze trends in bad debts and recommend improvements to accounts receivable policies and procedures.

Ensure that all revenue contracts are entered into the contracts system, identifying financial commitments for all parties.  Prepare the invoicing process for revenue contracts in the financial system.  Coordinate with leadership to ensure revenue from contracts is recorded in the general ledger in accordance with GAAP.

Assist in the timely collection of outstanding receivables. Provides monthly reports detailing customer balances greater than 60 days past due with a plan for collection or write-off.  Contact customers with balances greater than 90 days past due to determine a plan for payment.

Serve as a liaison to PGA operational team members and Section staff with regards to accounts receivable activities; supports AR staff in their role as business partners to the operational teams.

Ensure timely reconciliation of all accounts receivable; all accounts receivable sub-ledger balances must be reconciled to the general ledger monthly. 

Assist with year-end audit.

Coach and train new and current Accounts Receivable staff.

FINANCIAL RESPONSIBILITY:

Assist with the development of the annual budget for the Finance department.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

High School Diploma or equivalent. Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting preferred.

Four years’ experience in a computerized accounts receivable processing environment.  

Workday experience is strongly preferred.

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES:

Must have knowledge of Accounting processes and procedures. Knowledge of Financial Information Systems, Workday preferred.  A demonstrated understanding of Google Workspace and  MS office with an emphasis in Excel.

Ability to travel up to 15%.
