If you advance to the next stage of the interview process, the Northern Texas PGA staff will determine the best opportunity for you based on your background and experience. The Northern Texas PGA is one of 41 sections of The PGA of America and has a membership of more than 1,000 PGA of America Golf Professionals. The Northern Texas PGA's objective is to promote the enjoyment and involvement in the game of golf and to contribute to its growth by providing services to golf professionals and the golf industry. The PGA of America, the Northern Texas PGA and its member golf professionals are recognized as the leaders in the world of golf today.

NORTHERN TEXAS PGA MISSION 
The Northern Texas PGA staff’s mission is to serve PGA of America golf professionals and grow the game by managing the day-to-day affairs of the Section. The Northern Texas PGA also operates the Northern Texas PGA Foundation and The Ronny Golf Park.

(start and end dates are somewhat flexible based on the successful applicant’s school schedule)

CHAMPIONSHIP OPERATIONS JOB SUMMARY
The Northern Texas PGA annually conducts competitive championships for PGA Members and Associates as well as the Texas State Open, the Texas Women's Open, and PGA TOUR qualifying events. The Northern Texas PGA is seeking qualified applicants for a 13-week internship position in professional golf tournament operations. 

CHAMPIONSHIP OPERATIONS JOB RESPONSIBILITIES 
  • Execute pre-tournament operations, such as tournament information collection, golf course marking, selecting hole locations, equipment set-up, and developing operational plans
  • Administer on-site responsibilities, such as player registration, starting, rules officiating, scoring, and awards presentations
  • Execute post-tournament responsibilities, including completing, organizing, and submitting tournament reports, distributing tournament results, and equipment tear-down 
  • Effectively communicate with host professional staff, junior golfers, parents, caddies, and spectators
  • Manage tournament equipment by transporting equipment to and from facilities, inventory reporting, and maintenance 
  • Provide support to select Section and Foundation operations through various on-site responsibilities
  • Work in-office with NTPGA staff on various projects during scheduled office days

CHAMPIONSHIP OPERATIONS SUMMER TOURNAMENT SCHEDULE 
The Championships Tournament Operations interns are responsible for assisting with the conduct of approximately 10 professional golf tournaments and occasional All American Tour tournaments, the NTPGA Junior Tour’s highest level of competition, throughout the summer. The Championships Tournament Operations Interns should expect to work, on average, five days a week with the exception of a few special events. The summer Championships Tournament Operations Interns will work approximately 35-50 hours each week.  Working some weekends will be required, and weekdays may be given off to accommodate weekends worked.

CHAMPIONSHIP OPERATIONS PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Current or graduated PGA Golf Management students
  • Interest in a career in golf administration or operations

ALL AMERICAN TOUR OPERATIONS JOB SUMMARY
The Northern Texas PGA is seeking qualified applicants for a 12-week internship in golf tournament operations during the summer of 2026. Successful applicants will be responsible for helping conduct day-to-day operations of the All American Tour. The All American Tour is for NTPGA Junior Tour members who have achieved a high level of golf and tournament experience. The All American Tour offers competitive 36-hole individual stroke play tournaments that are nationally ranked and offer exemptions to regional championships as well as AJGA Performance Based Entry (PBE). 
 
ALL AMERICAN TOUR OPERATIONS JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Execute pre-tournament responsibilities such as infrastructure/signage set-up and golf course set-up (course marking and selecting yardage & hole locations)
  • Administer on-site responsibilities, such as player registration, starting, rules officiating, scoring, and awards presentations
  • Execute post-tournament responsibilities including infrastructure breakdown
  • Effectively communicate with host professional staff, junior golfers, parents, caddies, and spectators
  • Manage tournament equipment through organization, inventory reporting, and maintenance 
  • Inform and enforce All American Tour Rules & Regulations including Rules of Golf, Caddie Program, and Pace of Play
  • Provide support to select Section and Foundation operations through various on-site responsibilities
 
ALL AMERICAN TOUR OPERATIONS SUMMER TOURNAMENT SCHEDULE
All American Tour Operations Interns will be responsible for helping conduct approximately 18 All American Tour tournaments. The tournament format for these events will be 36-hole stroke play competitions.  Additionally, All American Tour Operations Interns will assist with professional tournaments, foundation programming, and other junior golf tournaments as needed. On average, summer Interns can expect to work 35-45 hours per week. All American Tour tournaments will be conducted Monday through Friday and will include an occasional weekend setup day. Interns are provided a schedule of staff assignments one month in advance of the tournament or event.

JUNIOR TOUR OPERATIONS JOB SUMMARY 
The Northern Texas PGA is seeking qualified applicants for a 12-week internship in golf tournament operations during the summer of 2026. Successful applicants will be responsible for helping conduct day-to-day operations of the Northern Texas PGA Junior Tour and the Northern Texas PGA Foundation’s Junior Golf programming. This internship includes comprehensive training in golf tournament operations, event management, Rules of Golf, and professional development.

JUNIOR TOUR OPERATIONS JOB RESPONSIBILITIES 
  • Execute pre-tournament responsibilities, such as tournament information collection, equipment/signage set-up, and golf course set-up
  • Administer on-site responsibilities, such as player registration, starting, rules officiating, scoring, and awards presentations
  • Execute post-tournament responsibilities, including completing, organizing, and submitting tournament reports, distributing tournament results, and equipment tear-down 
  • Effectively communicate with host professional staff, junior golfers, parents, caddies, and spectators
  • Manage tournament equipment through transporting equipment to and from facilities, inventory reporting, and maintenance 
  • Provide support to select Section and Foundation operations through various on-site responsibilities

JUNIOR TOUR OPERATIONS SUMMER TOURNAMENT SCHEDULE 
Summer Interns will be responsible for helping conduct approximately 25-30 Junior Tour tournaments.  These tournaments will primarily include single-day, 18-hole and 9-hole stroke play competitions. Interns will be responsible for conducting these events from start to finish. Additionally, Foundation programming includes the full conduct of nine (9) Drive, Chip and Putt local qualifiers and two (2) sub-regionals. On average, summer Interns can expect to work 35-45 hours per week. Junior Tour tournaments will be conducted Monday through Friday and will include some weekend events. Interns are provided a schedule of staff assignments one month in advance of the tournament or event.

QUALIFICATIONS (APPLICABLE TO ALL OPERATIONS INTERNSHIPS)
Required: 
  • Has or is pursuing a college degree (third or fourth-year students preferred)
  • Has automobile access with willingness and ability to travel within the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex
  • Has existing insurance (through school or family)
  • Exhibits ability to work and communicate effectively in a team-based environment 
  • General computer literacy (i.e. Microsoft Office, Smartphone Apps)

Physical Requirements: 
  • Ability to work early mornings
  • Ability to work outside in extreme weather and temperatures
  • Ability to lift objects up to 50 pounds, i.e. tents, tables, stakes, and signage 
  • Ability to safely operate a golf cart
  • Ability to stand and move around on foot for extended periods of time
  • Ability to speak publicly 
  • Effectively able to use and operate cell phones, tablets, and hand-held radios 

 TOURNAMENT TRAVEL (APPLICABLE TO ALL OPERATIONS INTERNSHIPS)
Tournaments will be located throughout the entire Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex, and extensive travel around DFW is required. Interns will be responsible for their own transportation to and from all tournaments as well as to and from the Northern Texas PGA office. When tournaments are conducted outside of the DFW Metroplex travel, meals and lodging will be provided.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS (APPLICABLE TO ALL OPERATIONS INTERNSHIPS)
  • Interns are compensated at a rate of $10.00 per hour (before taxes) 
  • Interns are compensated at a rate of $15.00 per hour if they work more than 40 hours per week (before taxes)
  • NTPGA staff uniforms including golf shirts and hats will be provided
  • Playing and practicing privileges at the NTPGA Golf Park and select golf courses in the area
  • School credit (if applicable) 

HOUSING (APPLICABLE TO ALL OPERATIONS INTERNSHIPS)
The Northern Texas PGA does not provide housing of any kind but will be more than happy to assist with the location of housing for those unfamiliar with the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex. Past interns have utilized corporate housing agencies for fully furnished apartment leases, secured house leases through Airbnb, or utilized extended stay hotels. Those with family or friends in the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex are welcome to stay there and not obligated to live with other interns.
