JOB SUMMARY
The Ladies Professional Golf Association is seeking a part-time FM Global Championship Tournament Services Intern to join our dynamic team in executing a world-class sporting event that aims to revive professional golf in New England. As the Tournament Services Intern, you will manage and execute the FM Global Championship’s volunteer program, acting as the primary contact for over 400 volunteers vital to the event’s success. This role offers hands-on experience in event operations and the chance to apply organizational, problem-solving, and multitasking skills. Perfect for students serious about pursuing a career in sports, interns will manage key projects and gain valuable professional experience.
 
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Serve as main contact for 400+ event volunteers.
  • Manage recruitment, training, and coordination of volunteers.
  • Utilize an online volunteer database for scheduling management and communication plans. 
  • Oversee Volunteer HQ set up, including F&B, and volunteer services. 
  • Assist with community events and local outreach. 
 
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
  • Ability and willingness to gain expertise and perform work in new areas.
  • Proficient in written and oral communication to effectively interact with volunteers and team members. 
  • Demonstrated capability to work independently on multiple projects. 
  • Flexibility to assist with areas of the tournament as needed. 
  • Strong collaborative skills, comfortable working in a team environment. 
  • Excellent organizational abilities, with a keen attention to detail. 
 
INTERNSHIP QUALIFICATIONS
  • Must be currently enrolled as a college/graduate student.
  • Progress toward a degree, major, or minor relevant to the internship.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Available to work in Boston, Massachusetts from June 3 – September 6.
