About the HJGT
The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour (HJGT) was founded in 2007 with the intention of providing
junior golfers between the ages of 8-18 an opportunity to play exceptional courses in a
competitive environment. The tour’s vision is to provide superb hospitality and make every event
a memorable one. With play open to both males and females, nearly every junior golfer is
eligible to participate on the HJGT. Currently the HJGT is the largest junior golf tour in the world
hosting more 2-day nationally ranked events than any other tour.

Position Summary
The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour (HJGT) is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Email
Marketing Intern to join our digital marketing team. The Communications Intern will support public relations, media communications, and brand storytelling across HJGT tournaments, national events, and digital platforms. This role is ideal for students interested in sports PR, media relations, and athlete storytelling.

Required Qualifications:
  • Pursuing a Degree in Marketing/Communications/Journalism or Related Field
  • Must be within Good Standing of your College/University
  • Passion for Marketing/Digital Media/Sports
  • Ability to Multitask in a Faced-Paced Environment
  • Excellent Communication/Writing Skills
  • Knowledge of Canva and/or Adobe Photoshop
  • Experience with Microsoft Office
  • Attention to Detail
  • Desire to Learn

Desired Qualifications:
  • Experience with graphic design preferably using Canva and/or Adobe Photoshop
  • Knowledge/Experience with content creation including but not limited to caption-writing, blogs, 
  • social media publication
  • Willing to provide creative content ideas, guidance and strategies to Influencers
  • Willingness to step outside of comfort zone

Responsibilities:

 Public Relations & Media
 • Assist in writing and editing press releases, media advisories, and announcements for HJGT tournaments and initiatives
 • Support outreach to sports media, golf publications, local outlets, and digital creators
 • Maintain and update media contact lists and press distribution records
 • Track media coverage and compile press recap and coverage reports

 Event & Tournament Communications
 • Support PR efforts before, during, and after HJGT events
 • Assist with event recaps, athlete highlights, and milestone announcements
 • Help coordinate communications for National Championship Weekend and major tour events
 • Support live communication needs at events when applicable

 Brand Storytelling
 • Help identify and develop stories around player achievements, rankings, college commitments, and tour milestones
 • Ensure messaging aligns with HJGT brand voice and elite positioning
 • Assist in developing talking points and FAQs for public-facing use

 Digital & Social Communications
 • Assist with public-facing copy for social media, email announcements, and website updates
 • Monitor engagement and flag PR opportunities or notable performances
 • Support content planning around major events and announcements

Students will be able to use the HJGT internship for college credit. Your institution will decide
the amount of credits. All interns MUST be enrolled in at least one credit.

and interact with various groups of people and get to know the future stars of the PGA and 
LPGA tours. For example, interns will be around golf professionals, directors of golf, course 
superintendents, influential and successful sponsors, parents, and spectators. This internship is 
unlike many other programs because of the hands-on experience you will receive. Interns will
be given daily tasks that have a substantial impact on the organization. You will learn how to
