Job Purpose
The Manager of Strategic Projects & Administration plays a key role in advancing the mission and long-term goals of the Arizona Golf Association. This position supports organizational strategy by leading cross-functional projects, supporting executive leadership, and improving internal processes that strengthen alignment across the Association. The ideal candidate is proactive, highly organized, and motivated by work that blends strategic planning, administrative excellence, and meaningful impact on the Arizona golf community.

Duties and Responsibilities

Strategic Planning & Project Leadership
  • Manage high-priority initiatives tied to the Association’s Strategic Plan.
  • Translate objectives into actionable project plans with clear timelines and milestones.
  • Use project management tools to track progress and provide transparent reporting.
  • Identify trends, analyze outcomes, and prepare insights that inform leadership decisions.
  • Enhance internal processes and communication structures through proactive problem-solving.

Administrative & Executive Support
  • Partner closely with the Executive Director on governance, policy development, and strategic planning.
  • Support Executive Committee operations including meeting preparation, updating materials, logistics, and follow-up communication.
  • Assist with administrative workflows to ensure consistency, clarity, and operational excellence across teams.

Events & Stakeholder Engagement
  • Assist in planning and executing key Association events, including venue coordination, program development, and attendee management.
  • Strengthen partnerships with allied golf organizations through collaborative projects and shared communication.
  • Support the Team Arizona State Junior Team Program as needed.

Special Projects & Foundation Support
  • Lead or assist with cross-departmental projects assigned by the Executive Director.
  • Provide administrative and data management support for the Arizona Golf Foundation, including donor stewardship and reporting.
  • Work effectively with Championships, Marketing & Communications, Member Services, and USGA Services to ensure alignment and integration of organizational priorities.
 

Skills and Qualifications

Education: Bachelor’s degree in business administration, communications, sport management or a related field preferred.
Experience: Minimum 3-5 years of experience in project management, strategic planning, or nonprofit administration (association or sports industry preferred).

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and generate insights.
  • Detail-oriented, proactive, and comfortable managing multiple priorities.
  • Strong technological proficiency; experience with project management or CRM systems preferred. (Monday.com and HubSpot)
  • A deep understanding of the golf industry and its audience is a strong plus.

 Working Conditions
  • Spends a significant amount of time in an office setting, routinely using standard office equipment.
  • Travel locally to visit golf courses and to oversee special promotional events using a personal or company car.
  • A flexible work schedule with some evening or weekend work may be necessary when supporting Association events.
  • Physical requirements include the ability to lift up to 25 pounds (e.g., office supplies, equipment).
