Cabot Citrus Farms
Cabot’s first U.S. destination, Cabot Citrus Farms, is on 1,200 acres of rolling land and will include Cabot’s signature combination of world-class golf, luxury accommodations, and real estate opportunities. Opening in 2023, Cabot Citrus Farms will feature two revitalized 18-hole courses, a par-3 course, a new clubhouse, and extensive practice facilities. The property is a 50-minute drive from Tampa and an 80-minute drive from Orlando. While close to urban amenities, the property sits in the central-west region of Florida aptly known as the Nature Coast. Visitors will delight in one-of-a-kind experiences including exceptional hiking, biking, and nature trails at neighboring Withlacoochee State Forest, spring-fed rivers and bountiful lakes at Crystal River, and world-class fishing in the Gulf of Mexico.


Position Overview
In this position, you will perform work involving the use of large and small equipment, including tractors, mowers, loaders, and other maintenance equipment; perform routine manual labor involved in golf course & landscape maintenance; and do semi-skilled grounds construction and maintenance work.


Key Responsibilities
  • Operate tractors, loaders, aerifiers, utility vehicles, and other maintenance equipment in a safe, non-destructive manner.
  • Care for new and established flower and seasonal planting beds.
  • Prune or trim trees, shrubs, or hedges, using shears, pruners, or chainsaws.
  • Mix and spray or spread fertilizers, herbicides, or insecticides onto grass, shrubs, or trees using hand or automatic sprayers or spreaders.
  • Provide proper upkeep of sidewalks, driveways, parking lots, planters, or other grounds features.
  • Debris and garbage collection
  • Maintain diesel, gasoline, oil, and other equipment fluid levels daily; report any equipment problems or failures to the Second Assistant, Mechanic or Supervisor immediately.
  • Perform basic preventative maintenance on equipment as directed.
  • Maintain or repair tools, equipment, or structures, such as buildings, fences, or benches using hand or power tools.
  • Cleans and returns all equipment and tools to designated areas daily.
  • Executes all duties as detailed by the Landscape Superintendent 
  • Other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications
  • High School Diploma
  • Knowledge of the safe operation of handheld and motorized equipment
  • Knowledge of the principles of operation of gasoline and diesel engines, maintenance tools, and materials
  • Mechanical aptitude
  • Ability to follow oral and written directions. 
  • Ability to work flexible hours – mornings, evenings, weekdays, weekends, and holidays as required.
  • Positive attitude and excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Highly responsible & reliable
 

Physical Requirements
  • Ability to spend long hours moving around, walking, sitting, standing, kneeling, reaching.
  • Exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 25 pounds of force frequently or constantly lift, carry, push, or otherwise move objects.
  • Ability to work outdoors, exposed to varying environmental conditions such as heat, cold, and rain.
  • Ability to work with and around pesticides, fertilizers, equipment movement hazards, and misdirected golf balls.
