Under the direction of the Senior Director, Security and Safety, the Senior Manager, Security is accountable for the year round, day-to-day management of the Security Managers and Security Officers, the efficient operation of all security systems, and the effective operation of all security related processes and procedures. This role is responsible for training the security team in the use of the relevant systems and consistent execution of security processes. The Senior Manager, Security constructs the schedule for the team and ensures adequate coverage utilizing a blended workforce of ANGC staff and contractors. The Senior Manager, Security manages a comprehensive budget and displays deep financial acumen through the forecast and budget process. These incudes managing the contracts for contract security services. In addition, the Senior Manager, Security builds relationships with key internal and external stakeholders with global outreach to enhance security procedures year-round.

Additionally, the Senior Manager, Security is a key contributor towards the preparation and execution of the security plan and budget for the annual Masters Tournament, Augusta National Women’s Amateur, Drive, Chip and Putt finals.

This position is a full-time, on-site role in Augusta, GA.

Essential Functions of the Job

  • Oversee and administer the year round, day -to-day security plan for ANGC property
  • Design and implement security policies relevant to all Members and guests, ANGC employees, contractors and vendors
  • Oversee all budget, fire and life safety systems, team cross training and support to processes to provide a secure environment
  • Take emergency actions in conditions where health, safety and security of stakeholders may be threatened
  • Lead the preparation and execution of the strategic security plans for the Masters Tournament, Augusta National Women’s Amateur, Drive Chip Putt Finals. This includes managing contractors and vendors and liaison with various private sector, Federal;/State/Local law enforcement departments and governmental agencies.
  • Coordinate daily with stakeholders to provide security services year-round in support of Club activities
  • Manage schedules for the team, ensuring adequate coverage while balancing the needs of the Club with workforce
  • Directing and guiding security staff during the execution of daily duties
  • Consult with other departments and functions to conduct risk assessments and provide security support for events, programs and projects
  • Manage the Club’s access control to include year-round tournament, off-site facilities, perimeter gates
  • Develop and maintain an expert level knowledge of all life and safety systems utilized by ANGC
  • Create and manage cross functional training programs to ensure competency in relevant systems among the workforces
  • In alignment with the Safety team, planning and aligning work processes to ensure quality, consistency and a repeatable performance standard when responding to security events to enhance teamwork and reliability of common processes
  • Engage security staff to understand needs, delivering required training and follow-up to ensure successful outcomes are attained
  • Coordinate with outside agencies to provide security services year-round to support club activities
  • Serves as the Club’s liaison with Federal, State, County and Local law enforcement and other agencies, to include fire and other emergency response and intelligence teams
  • Collaborating with peers to set high standards of conduct and documenting expected behaviors
  • Articulating and communicating business objectives clearly to internal and external partners
  • Ensuring all contractors and vendors work within local, state, federal and Club security frameworks and regulations
  • Responsible for the Executive Protection program and consulting with all applicable protective teams and Law Enforcement entities and support of duty and care program management
  • Providing global threat and risk assessments and specific security information for worldwide locations where ANGC employees operate. This includes risk mitigation strategies for the Latin American Amateur Championship and the Asian Amateur Championship
  • Lead all budgeting and forecasting activities on behalf of the Security Team, and in alignment with the Safety team
  • Managing the contradicting process, ensuring clear standard operating procedures and documented service level agreements are contained within the contract and then oversee them in both letter and intent
  • Regularly overseeing spending and expense management, reporting on variances, and working with division leadership and finance to maintain standard controls and practice active cost avoidance
  • Accountable for the overall results of the team
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to accomplish organization goals
  • Accountable for the effectiveness of multiple processes, programs, and projects, while seeking efficiencies in process improvements
  • Responsible for the performance improvement and development of direct report
  • Accountable for effective fiscal management, including effective allocation of payroll, including management of overtime spend for the team

Physical demands

  • Occasionally required to sit, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach with hands and arms
  • Frequently required to use arms, hands, and fingers to manage, organize or lift items up to 50 pounds

Qualifications:

Skills/Knowledge/Attributes

  • Advanced knowledge and technical proficiency use of technology such as portable radio, cell phone, enterprise asset security, video management, camera management, access control, fire and security alarm systems and any other security systems as required
  • Discretion and confidentiality required regarding all Club business. A security clearance is preferred
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs to include Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook. Knowledge of NetSuite, Concur, and Workday a plus
  • Ability to protect and secure principals and conduct executive travel threat assessments
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills with the ability to prepare reports
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to efficiently multitask
  • Creates confidence and trust with others by exhibiting behavior with the highest level of integrity
  • Comfortable in conversing with individuals from a variety of backgrounds and at all organizational levels

  • Knowledge of the game of golf and golf etiquette preferred

Relative Experience/Education

  • 10 years supervisory roles in law enforcement or emergency management with at least 5 years in a management role
  • 10 years of tactical training skills and experience
  • Top Secret security clearance preferred
  • Experience with coordinating and conducting investigations
  • Experience with Executive Protection concepts of operations
  • Experience with and ability to effectively manage high-stress and high-risk sit
  • Expertise in the analysis of security threats, risks, and vulnerability domestically and internationally
  • Private sector/corporate security preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Master’s degree preferred
  • Preferred qualifications: industry recognized certifications such as: Business Continuity, NCS4, ASIS Certified Protection Professional, ASIS Professional Certified Investigator, ASIS Physical Security Professional
  • Preferred Leadership qualifications: industry recognized programs such as the Senior Management Institute for Police (SMIP), FBI National Academy (FBINA), or FBI-LEEDA

Required License(s)

  • Possesses a valid driver’s license and/or successfully complete the Club’s internal motor vehicle training program

Projected Work Schedule

Normal work hours are 8:30 am-5:00 pm, Monday through Friday. Must be available to work nights, weekends and holidays. Some travel may be required.
