Position Overview

The Team Mascot (Volunteer) serves as a high-energy ambassador for Indiana Valor Women’s Football. This role brings the team’s spirit, values, and personality to life by engaging fans, energizing crowds, and representing the organization at games and community events. The Mascot helps create a fun, inclusive, and memorable experience while promoting women’s football and community pride.

This is a non-paid volunteer position ideal for an enthusiastic, outgoing individual who enjoys performance, crowd engagement, and supporting women’s sports.

Key Responsibilities

Game Day Engagement

  • Perform as the official Indiana Valor mascot at home games

  • Interact with fans of all ages in a positive, inclusive, and family-friendly manner

  • Energize the crowd through gestures, movement, skits, and sideline presence

  • Participate in halftime, timeouts, and promotional activities

Community & Promotional Appearances

  • Represent Indiana Valor at community events, schools, festivals, parades, and partner activities

  • Support marketing, fundraising, and outreach initiatives

  • Serve as a visible advocate for women’s football and the team’s mission

Brand Representation

  • Uphold Indiana Valor’s values, professionalism, and public image at all times

  • Follow mascot performance guidelines and brand standards

  • Maintain character integrity—no speaking while in costume unless directed

Coordination & Teamwork

  • Work closely with game-day staff, Director of Communications, and event coordinators

  • Arrive on time and prepared for scheduled appearances

  • Assist with mascot costume care, transport, and basic maintenance

Qualifications

Required

  • High energy, enthusiasm, and comfort performing in front of crowds

  • Ability to communicate non-verbally and engage diverse audiences

  • Reliability and commitment to scheduled events

  • Ability to follow direction and represent the team professionally

Preferred

  • Background in performance, dance, cheer, theater, or athletics

  • Prior mascot or character performance experience

  • Experience working with children or community events

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to wear a mascot costume for extended periods

  • Ability to walk, dance, jump, and perform light physical activity

  • Ability to lift and carry costume pieces (up to 25–30 lbs, if applicable)

Time Commitment

  • Primarily home games, plus select community and promotional events

  • Flexible schedule with evenings and weekends
