Youth Football Assistant (Seasonal)

Position Overview:
The Washington Commanders are seeking a highly motivated, detail-oriented, and enthusiastic Youth Football Assistant (Seasonal) to support the execution of youth and high school football programming across the DMV region. This role will focus heavily on event management and grassroots initiatives that align with the Commanders' mission of growing the game of football at all levels, especially Girls Flag Football.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Assist in the planning, setup, and execution of youth football events, including camps, clinics, school visits, and NFL-aligned initiatives (e.g., Play 60, Flag Football, High School Games of the Week, Girls Flag Football).
- Coordinate logistics for event-day operations including check-in, equipment setup, signage, and participant flow.
- Support grassroots and in-school football programming, including travel to local schools and community centers for activations.
- Capture program metrics and participation data for post-event reporting and performance tracking.
- Draft written content for event recaps, internal updates, marketing collateral, and external communication.
- Assist with research on youth football trends locally and nationally to inform future programming.
- Prepare and maintain supplies and materials for all youth football events and activations.
- Support the development of presentations and materials for various audiences including parents, coaches, and community stakeholders.
- Assist with internal requests such as mascot appearances, photography, videography, and facility scheduling.
- Deliver exceptional customer service and represent the Commanders brand professionally in all youth football programming.
- Support other departments and special projects as needed.
Qualifications:
- 1-2 years of experience in event operations, youth sports, community programming, or a similar environment.
- Working knowledge of American football rules and structures at the youth and high school levels.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, particularly for event planning and logistics.
Required Skills:
- Demonstrated experience in event management and execution.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Canva for event materials and reports.
- Proactive and solution-oriented mindset with a strong work ethic and adaptability.
- Ability to lift and transport equipment and supplies (up to 50-60 lbs).
- Comfortable working outdoors and on your feet for extended periods (4–6+ hours).
- Flexible schedule including availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.

Salary: $15.00/hour
