The Washington Commanders are looking for a Finance Intern to support our Finance department throughout Summer 2026. This position will span approximately 8-12 weeks from late May/early June through early to mid-August, based in our College Park offices. Intern responsibilities include, but are not limited to, general accounting/finance procedures and special projects.


Major duties and responsibilities:

  • Work on monthly financial reporting, forecasting, and variance analysis
  • Assist with month-end reconciliations
  • Assist in tracking status of Capital expenditure projects for the current stadium and training facility
  • Support department with various ad-hoc projects
  • Learn about a variety of accounting and finance activities
  • Perform data entry and analysis
 
Qualifications:

  • Student working toward a bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, business administration, or a related field
  • Ability to work full-time (40 hours/week) during the internship period and be in person Monday through Thursday
  • Basic understanding of financial concepts and accounting principles
  • Enthusiastic, proactive, flexible, adaptable, and attentive to detail
  • Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to document and manage accurate, timely information 
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team and take direction effectively
  • Excellent communication skills required, both written and verbal
  • Above average computer skills including Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
  • Prior experience in an office environment preferred
