The Payroll Manager will be responsible for multi-state payrolls for full-time, part-time, seasonal employees and contracted staff. The Payroll Manager will be responsible for overseeing the work of the Payroll Coordinator and the processing bi-weekly payrolls and other related functions including maintaining employee records, timekeeping, handling payroll inquiries, payroll tax activities and related special projects. Responsibilities include the maintenance of the payroll system including earning and deduction code setup, tax and wage attachment set up and processing along with employee payroll related information including w-2 processing, direct deposit, employee pay and time keeping. 
 
Essential duties and responsibilities:
·         Manage and oversee the processing of multi-state payrolls including the processing of 401K, special payments and garnishments in a timely and accurate manner.  This includes the production and issuance of paychecks or electronic transfers to bank accounts and handling payroll related inquiries.

·         Manage and regularly review for proper system setup and maintenance of payroll related system requirements including earning codes, deduction codes, tax setup and paid time off policies for various worker categories.

·         Provide reporting information and analysis to support Finance, Ticket Office, and People Operations via Paycor Reporting.

·         Develop and deliver payroll/time keeping training to supervisors and employees. Responsible for the management of time keeping modules including user and approver updates, time code setup and associated pay code maintenance. 

·         Manage and oversee requests for information with accuracy and promptness. Processes and resolves discrepancies promptly in compliance with federal, state and local wage and hour regulations and company policies.

·         Assists in preparation of all necessary tax filings including any federal and local filings as required.

·         Responsible for year-end and start of year payroll related activities. 

·         Support external auditors for year-end audits as well as benefit and insurance audits.

·         Assist VP, Controller with yearly Affordable Care Act compliance.

·         Maintains employee confidence and protects payroll operations by keeping information confidential.

·         Maintains current knowledge of wage and hour/payroll regulations and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and/or participating in professional societies. Review processes for compliance and best practices on a regular basis.

·         Assists with special projects and contributes to team efforts to accomplish related results as needed.

 
Qualifications:
·         Requires at least 3-5 years of payroll management experience.

·         Experience processing payroll with Paycor creating Paycor Reports and managing tax and wage attachments is highly preferred.

·         Experience in sports, events, or entertainment industry highly preferred.

·         Must have the ability to stay current on payroll related compliance with company, local, state and federal regulations and best practices.

·         Prior supervisor experience is highly preferred. Ability to effective lead and train is required. 

·         Ability to communicate and collaborate across all levels in verbal and written communication in a fast-paced environment.

·         Strong computer skills especially Microsoft Excel.

·         Must be highly organized and able to meet strict deadlines.

·         Must have the ability to present information to users and time approvers related to payroll/time keeping processes.
