 The Washington Commanders are seeking a Partnership Marketing Manager to join the Corporate Partnerships department. This role will be expected to have a professional demeanor, with the ability to manage high profile team sponsors while focusing on strategic implementations for optimizing partnerships and exhibiting an eagerness to learn and grow. This role must be able to communicate clearly internally and externally at a variety of levels. This individual will be detail-oriented and able to manage various tasks and meet demanding deadlines. The ability to take initiative and ownership of business accounts and projects, recommend solutions, and make informed decisions in alignment with our organizational values is essential.
  
The Partnership Marketing Manager role will:
  • Be a strategic thinker, exemplifying knowledge and expertise in partners’ respective categories
  • Deliver significant value to partners through industry insights, best practices, and creative and innovative ideas
  • Drive revenue through partnership renewals and upsells 
  • Stay abreast of current trends and become a category expert across key accounts with knowledge of competitor intelligence
  • Activate partner campaigns and initiatives thoroughly through hands-on experiential executions and event management
  • Cultivate new and existing relationships and build solutions against partnership goals
  • Provide perspective and deliver meaningful contributions that encourages a positive business culture and boosts the overall bottom line
 
Responsibilities Also Include:
  • Manage a portfolio of 10 - 15 team partnerships by overseeing and executing across all elements of sponsorship contracts within portfolio, including TV and radio media, digital assets, print advertising, stadium signage, special events, hospitality, and in-game promotions
  • Develop and cultivate relationships with key leaders and day-to-day partner contacts
  • Responsible for retaining and renewing current partners, while considering internal profitability thresholds and expectations
  • Work collaboratively among other departments to provide solutions for achieving partner’s goals and objectives, and present ideas to partners to create opportunities for incremental revenue for the team
  • Assist in the detailed coordination of multiple high-profile events and game day experiences
  • Track and compile appropriate metrics that demonstrate ROI and growth opportunities for corporate partners in real-time, mid-season, and end-of-season
  • Additional responsibilities may be included to ensure partnership, departmental and companywide success 
 
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university
  • 4+ years of experience with a consumer brand, agency or media/sports property is preferred
  • Proven successful experience in revenue generation through upselling and renewing partnerships
  • Availability and willingness to work all Commanders home games and assigned events
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Experience in developing activation marketing plans, promotions, presentations and proposals and demonstrated knowledge of general promotional concepts and marketing principles
  • Ability to develop and maintain interpersonal and corporate relationships
  • Strong organizational skills, time management and attention to detail
  • Exhibit good judgment and decision-making skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills
  • Proven experience to appropriately work with and around confidential information
  • Self-starter, with ability to work independently or as part of a team
  • Ability to commute to offices in Riverdale, Maryland, OrthoVirginia Training Center at Commanders Park in Ashburn, Virginia, and the stadium in Landover, Maryland.
