Accounting and Finance: Accounts Payable/Accounts Receivable/Purchasing
The Washington Commanders are hiring a General Accountant & Accounts Payable Analyst who will be responsible for performing and managing varied accounting functions. Functions include but are not limited to managing accrued liabilities and pre-paid expenses, tracking capital expenditures, managing T&E and corporate cards, recording and posting entries in the financial system, and performing ad-hoc accounting projects as requested by management.
 
Major duties and responsibilities:
  • Manage Accrued Liabilities and Pre-paid expenses by reviewing weekly/monthly AP reporting to ensure invoices are expensed in the proper periods
  • Review weekly AP transactions to ensure accuracy in coding
  • Manage Travel & Entertainment and Invoicing system to include onboarding and offboarding of employees, chart of account updates, reporting needs, etc.
  • Maintain and analyze vendor spend reports to include any minimum spend agreements, timeliness of invoice submissions and approvals, vendor service/product type, etc.
  • Manage Corporate Card program 
  • Review T&E expense reports and Corporate Card reports to ensure compliance with policies and procedures
  • Maintain barter/trade schedule to track usage and ensure compliance
  • Analyze and reconcile general ledger accounts
  • Prepare monthly account roll forwards and balance sheet account reconciliations as assigned
  • Provide requested information to auditors, consultants, and others on audits and other matters requiring coordination
  • Assist in development of new procedures and implementation of new systems to enhance the workflow of the department
  • Other projects as assigned
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting/finance is required
  • 3+ years accounting experience is required
  • Prior experience should include general ledger accounting, accounts payable, balance sheet account reconciliation, and interaction with external auditors or participation on external audit engagements
Knowledge and Skills:
  • Familiarity with accounting/financial software
  • Knowledge Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations is a plus
  • Knowledge of Concur is a plus
  • Solid understanding of general accounting principles
  • Advanced Excel skills required
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office software (Word, PowerPoint, etc)
  • Detail oriented with strong organizational skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize and meet deadlines
  • Effective communicator both verbally and in writing
  • Strong administrative and organization skills with attention to detail and follow-up required
