Communications Intern
As a dynamic and hard-working individual, you will have the opportunity to learn and grow through real hands-on work experience within both the football and corporate communications department. In Washington, we value providing our interns with opportunities to grow throughout the season in a variety of realms in one of the biggest media markets in the country. We are looking for qualified and dedicated individuals that are looking to grow their careers in the sports public relations world. 
Responsibilities:
·       Compile and distribute daily news clippings of team news to front office executives and football personnel.
·       Create, write and edit a variety of team publications and documents including media guide, weekly releases, press releases, player bios, press box notes, flip cards and postgame notes.
·       Research statistics using databases such as TruMedia, Football Reference, StatsPass and others.
·       Record and transcribe press conferences and player availabilities.
·       Help plan and pitch media opportunities for football, corporate and business ventures.
·       Facilitate player media requests including both external and internal media.
·       Set up and prepare press box for all home games.
·       Prepare media annex for weekly press conferences including backdrop set up and breakdown. 
·       Develop interview preparation documents for players, coaches, and executives.
·       Assist in updating and maintaining the departments communication website.
·       Maintain daily interactions with both local and national media.
·       Assist the department from home while the team is on the road.
·       Work collaboratively with other departments including in-house media and social media, community and others as assigned.
·       Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:
·       Recent college graduate with a concentration in Communications, Public Relations or a related field.
·       Experience with Adobe InDesign and Photoshop.
·       Experience with statistical databases such as Stats Pass, Pro Football Reference and TruMedia a plus.
·       Must be able to work a minimum of 40 hours a week including nights and weekends.
·       Must be available for ALL Commanders games including home and road games.
