The Washington Commanders are looking for a high performing, solutions-oriented Associate Counsel to join our small in-house legal & business affairs team, with a primary focus on drafting and negotiating commercial transactions, developing and maintaining organizational processes, and collaborating with internal and external business partners. The successful candidate also will ensure the Washington Commanders operates in compliance with federal, state, and local laws and NFL Rules, including with respect to privacy and data security. The ideal candidate will take initiative and be collaborative, adaptable, responsive, strategic, business savvy, creative, pragmatic, skilled, polished, passionate, energetic, detail-focused, organized, eager to learn, and ready to excel in a high visibility, fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities
· Under the guidance of the Chief Legal Officer & SVP, Business Affairs and two Senior Counsel, the Associate Counsel will be   responsible for drafting, reviewing, negotiating, and interpreting a wide variety of agreements with corporate sponsors,   premium suite/season ticket holders, non-football event promoters, consultants, and commercial vendors
· Draft, review, and manage non-disclosure/confidentiality agreements
· Draft, review, and manage waivers and releases for all events, activities, and services at both Northwest Stadium and the   Team’s practice facility
· Review and revise official rules related to sweepstakes and other promotions
· Proactively provide business-focused solutions to internal stakeholders
· Assist with rolling out and maintaining the organization’s contract management system and keeping departmental   templates and clause libraries up-to-date
· Assist with developing and implementing the Team’s privacy and data security program and manage compliance with NFL     processes and requirements
· Aid in the management and resolution of disputes, litigation, and, on an as needed basis, coordinate with and oversee   outside counsel representing the Washington Commanders in such matters
· Coordinate with the Team’s risk management consultants and manage insurance notifications and COIs
· Evaluate and implement improvements in Team policies and procedures to ensure compliance with all relevant federal,   state, and local laws and regulations as well as the NFL’s Constitution & Bylaws, rules, and commercial policies
· Assist with a variety of other matters and special assignments as needed

Qualifications
· Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree and admission to state bar
· 2-4 years of relevant experience drafting and negotiating commercial contracts in a law firm or corporate legal department
· Ability to work efficiently and multitask in an unstructured environment with frequent interruptions and demanding   deadlines, including knowing when and how to escalate issues
· Highly detail-oriented and organized
· Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
· Outstanding negotiation and writing skills and attention to detail, with a strong ability to draft and review legal documents,   navigate regulatory requirements, analyze complex issues, and provide practical, legal and business-oriented solutions to   internal and external partners

Salary Range: $130,000-$150,000
