The Washington Commanders are hiring a Real Estate Accounting Director responsible for
performing various accounting functions related to the construction of our new venue and
associated projects.
Major duties and responsibilities:
Financial liaison between Accounting and Real Estate department
Create and maintain financial schedules requested by internal and external parties
Record capital project journal entries
Prepare, review, and analyze monthly financial statements
Assist in financial modeling for forecasting construction progress
Prepare, maintain, and track project budgets in coordination with the FP&A team
Manage and process capital calls, including lender and municipal draws
Manage K-1s with tax advisor
Ensure company remains compliant with all GAAP and tax standards related to PP&E
Analyze and reconcile fixed asset accounts
Gather and organize all audit related documentation and support
Support AP and Treasury with vendor payments
Lead accounting system integration
Other ad hoc projects as assigned
Qualifications:
A bachelor’s degree in accounting/finance is required
CPA license
7+ years of real estate accounting experience
Prior experience should include general ledger and balance sheet reconciliations and
project funding/draw experience related to real estate/construction projects
Interaction with external auditors or participation in external audit engagements.
Knowledge and Skills:
Extensive knowledge of fixed assets under U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting
Principles (GAAP)
Familiarity with accounting/financial software
Knowledge Microsoft Dynamics 365
Advanced Excel skills required
Proficient in Microsoft Office software (Excel, PowerPoint, etc)
Adaptability and ability to manage responsibilities in a fast-paced environment
Detail oriented with strong organizational skills
Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize and meet deadlines
Effective communicator both verbally and in writing
