Basic Function:
Responsible for growing the Texans’ ancillary social accounts through tailored content, strategic planning, and fan engagement aligned with each brand’s unique voice.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Plan and execute platform-specific social campaigns for ancillary accounts including, but not limited to, TORO, Texans Cheer, Texans Youth Football, and Lone Star Sports & Entertainment.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to align content with broader team and organizational goals.
- Monitor and communicate emerging trends and platform best practices across organic and branded content.
- Write compelling, platform-native social copy tailored to each audience and brand voice.
- Partner with designers and content creators to develop engaging, original digital assets.
- Ensure social content is appropriately tagged, organized, and scheduled in coordination with content calendars.
- Monitor and engage with fans, brands, and influencers to foster authentic community interaction.
- Analyze key performance metrics to measure the success of campaigns and inform future strategies.
- Perform various other duties as may be assigned from time to time by the Social Content Manager and Director of Social Media.
Position requires routine face-to-face personal interaction with other Club personnel and fans at NRG Stadium and/or NRG Park during Houston Texans football games and other Club events; therefore, job responsibilities must be physically performed in the Club offices and/or at NRG Stadium/NRG Park as may be assigned and not in a telecommuting manner.
Subject to reasonable accommodations, position requires face-to-face personal interaction with other Club personnel and fans at Houston Texans home games, at other Houston Texans sponsored events held in and around NRG Stadium and/or NRG Park and at other locations in the Houston metropolitan area; therefore, responsibilities must be physically performed at the designated location and not in a telecommuting manner.
Education/Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree from a four-year accredited college or university preferred.
- Prior experience developing content and managing social properties for a brand or sports team preferred.
- Knowledge/understanding of social media best practices, including, but not limited to Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Snapchat and TikTok.
- Demonstrates creativity and documented immersion in social media.
- Ability to work long, flexible hours including gamedays, evenings, weekends and holidays as required.
- Proficiency in use of Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat and Adobe Photoshop.
- Ability to identify social trends and adjust strategy using analytical and quantitative problem-solving.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks with multiple priorities in a high energy environment.
- Ability to maintain attention to detail and ability to work effectively under pressure and within deadlines.
- Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication.
- Ability to maintain confidential and/or proprietary information.
Physical Requirements:
- Occasional travel related to job duties and responsibilities.
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 20 lbs.
- Must be able to talk, stand, walk, sit, drive, bend, squat, climb, twist and reach as necessary.
