Basic Function: The Brand Director for the Houston Texans will be responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive branding strategy that strengthens the team's identity, engages fans, and drives business growth. This role will work closely with various departments within the organization to ensure brand consistency and relevance across all touchpoints. The ideal candidate should have a proven track record of building and managing successful brand campaigns, a deep understanding of sports marketing, and a passion for the Houston Texans.
 
Duties/Responsibilities:

Marketing Strategy
  • Develop and manage creative briefs for brand campaigns, marketing initiatives, and cross-department projects.
  • Lead brand, marketing, advertising, and paid media strategy for the Houston Texans organization.
  • Partner with the Creative Director to bring campaigns to life through innovative concepts and storytelling.
  • Manage agency relationships, vendors, and internal resources to ensure timely, on-brand, and effective campaign execution 
 
Marketing Planning
  • Oversee the integrated marketing process, ensuring all campaigns, initiatives, and activations are aligned with brand vision and business objectives.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with digital/social, ticketing, corporate partners, retail, game presentation, and community to align messaging and maximize brand impact.
  • Analyze brand performance, campaign results, and fan engagement metrics to guide decision-making and optimize future efforts. 
  • Drive innovation in marketing by balancing creativity with analytical details to deliver measurable results.
 
Brand Identity
  • Serve as the primary steward of the Texans brand identity, ensuring consistency across all platforms, channels, and touchpoints. Collaborate with the Art Director on design execution, ensuring brand consistency and high-quality creative output. 
  • Work closely with the copywriter to ensure all messaging, tone, and copy align with the Texans brand voice and standards.
  • Stay ahead of industry trends in sports, entertainment, and culture to keep the Texans brand “cool”, relevant, and fan-first.
 
Corporate Partnerships
  • Serve as primary POC for Corporate Partnerships in Marketing
  • Collaborate with Partnerships team on platform ideation and monetization.
  • Oversee process with corporate partners to ensure accurate and effective brand usage across all partner activations.
 
Subject to reasonable accommodations, position requires routine face-to-face personal interaction with other Club personnel; therefore, job responsibilities must be physically performed in the Club offices and not in a telecommuting manner.

Skills Required:
  • Proven track record of leading integrated marketing campaigns from concept to execution.
  • Strong balance of creativity and analytical skills; able to translate data into insights and insights into ideas.
  • Excellent leadership and collaboration skills with experience managing cross-functional teams and external partners.
  • Deep understanding of brand strategy, storytelling, and fan engagement.
  • Decision making capabilities with respect to duties and responsibilities including budget allocation and resource expenditure. 
  • Policy setting capabilities associated with the job’s purpose and essential responsibilities.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a high-energy environment.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to develop solid working relationships at all levels across the organization and externally
  • Ability to work independently with minimal direction to complete personal goals and as a team member in order to accomplish department goals.
  • Excellent attention to detail and an ability to produce high-quality, accurate work within designated deadlines. 
  • Ability to maintain confidential and/or proprietary information.
  • Ability and internal drive to demonstrate a winning attitude and a strong work ethic in the performance of all job responsibilities.

Education/Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree from a four-year accredited college or university preferred.
  • High school diploma required.
  • Minimum of eight (8) years of experience in brand management, marketing, or related field.
