SUMMARY:

This position will be a key driver of the renewal and new sales efforts for corporate partnerships (and other revenue streams on an as needed basis) with businesses on the national and international landscape.

This position shall be responsible for the negotiation and execution of corporate partnerships with a primary focus on new business development and renewal of key existing partnerships, especially as it relates to national and international businesses – who conduct business in the United States, as well as within Canada and the United Kingdom.

The Director’s focus will be selling integrated and comprehensive corporate partnerships which include intellectual property rights, entitlements, promotions, all forms of media (television, digital, social, radio and print), permanent and digital signage (if applicable), hospitality, community programs and special events.

In addition, this role will work closely with the Director, International Marketing, the Partnership Activation Team, Premium Sales & Seating Services Team, the Ticket Sales & Service Team, as well as other internal stakeholders. This role will report to the Vice President, Corporate Partnership Sales.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:  

  • Extend the Team’s brand into new areas by engaging in strategic business relationships, especially on the national and international scene (specifically, within Canada and the United Kingdom)
  • Network for new business by cold calling and scheduling in-person sales meetings with a strategic pipeline of national and international corporations who conduct business in the United States, Canada and/or the United Kingdom
  • Develop revenue generating opportunities via consistent and creative prospecting methods, proactive/prompt email communication, face to face appointments with key decision makers, the creation and presentation of tailored sales presentations, and persistent client follow up that leads to closing sales with multi-year commitments
  • Participate in individual weekly reporting to track prospects and partner sales activity, meet with other members of the sales team to ensure sales progress goals are being met
  • Collaborate with the Business Analytics and True North Design Teams to both optimize internal database sales support/reporting procedures and to develop engaging brand creative utilized for effective corporate partnership sales proposals
  • Collaborate with the Vice President, Partnership Sales and the Director, Corporate Partnership Sales during the annual budget process and other meetings to discuss future inventory concepts
  • Achieve annual individual sales goals and collaborate with the other members of the sales team in order to help surpass overall department target goals
  • Manage the national and international inventory for inclusion within the CRM system
  • Attend to partners at Team events, on sponsorship trips and at games, as well represent the Team at various other networking events, as determined by the Team
  • Collaborate with the Vice President, Corporate Partnership Sales, the Director, Corporate Partnership Sales and the Director, International Marketing on international strategy, sales opportunities and partnership growth for Canada and the United Kingdom
  • Other miscellaneous projects as assigned
 
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: 

  • 10+ years of experience in a revenue generating role 
  • Bachelor’s Degree in marketing, related field, or equivalent experience
  • Experience developing sponsorship and marketing programs for international companies who conduct business in the United States, Canada and/or the United Kingdom
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks, establish priorities, and consistently meet deadlines
  • Understands the need for data integrity and pays attention to maintaining accurate and timely data
  • An effective communicator orally and written with excellent interpersonal skills
  • Be customer focused (with both external and internal prospects and partners)
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and thoughtfully with diverse populations
  • Ability to navigate situations while under pressure
  • Strong work ethic and the ability to be aggressive, polished and poised
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, CRM management and Archtics
  • Available to work extended hours including evenings, weekends and holidays
