Summary:
The Director, Health, Safety, and Environment oversees the development and implementation of safety programs across the Miami Dolphins, Formula 1 Crypto.com Miami Grand Prix, and Miami Open. This role ensures a safe and secure environment for all staff, guests, and partners and requires flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays based on event schedules.

- This is a full-time position based on site at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens, FL.
Responsibilities:
- Safety & Risk Management:
- Oversee safety protocols, conduct risk assessments, and implement corrective actions to minimize hazards and ensure regulatory compliance. Collaborate with the legal department in connection with potential and pending litigation matters. Must understand and have practical experience with the Florida Building Code, Fire Code Safety, and OSHA Safety Certifications.
- Emergency Preparedness & Response:
- Develop and maintain emergency plans, lead training and drills, and coordinate incident response across departments.
- Training & Compliance:
- Deliver safety training for staff and contractors; maintain documentation and ensure adherence to OSHA, NFPA, and other relevant standards. Drafts and presents safety and risk-related data metrics to executive leadership.
- Event Safety Operations:
- Support operational planning and execution for events, ensuring safety measures are integrated into all aspects of event logistics.
- Collaboration & Oversight:
- Partner with Stadium and Event Operations, Security, Engineering, Parking and Guest Experience; manage safety expectations for staff, vendors, and contractors.
- Workers’ Compensation Management:
- Oversee the workers’ compensation process, including incident reporting, claim management, coordination with insurance providers, and ensuring compliance with applicable laws and internal policies.
- Sustainability:
- Partner with event organizers to evaluate and deliver sustainability objectives. Maintain existing certifications including LEED and FÍA 3 Star.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Health, or a related field.
- 5–7 years of experience in safety operations, preferably in sports, entertainment, or large-scale facilities.
- Practical experience with Florida Building Code, OSHA Safety Certifications, and Fire Code Safety.
- LEED Certification or Green Advantage Certification strongly preferred
- Strong experience leading safety programs across an enterprise.
- Experience managing workers’ compensation claims and related processes.
- Excellent communication, leadership, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
Work Environment:
- Position requires flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays based on the stadium’s event schedule.
- Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the stadium and surrounding facilities during events and operational days
