The Los Angeles Rams are looking for a Data Science and Analytics Intern for the 2021 football season. This person would report to the Manager of Analytics and Consumer Insights and be part of the Analytics team. The Analytics team at the Los Angeles Rams combines deep data analysis and market research to provide data-driven insights into our fans and our city and identifies ways to grow and deepen our fan base as well as drive engagement. Responsibilities:
  •  Help develop our Knowledge Sharing platform to host Analytics dashboards, research, repositories, and capabilities
  •  Proactively drive and deliver (advanced) analytical solutions through data exploration and wrangling for the business
  •  Mine and analyze raw data with a hands-on quality control approach to implement strong data governance and best practices in data cataloging
  •  Help structure and collect data to build tools and framework to support building the data lake
  •  Apply data science and machine learning from an explorative and analytical angle; take initiative in reviewing marketing and media materials for ways to optimize future efforts, providing actionable, data-driven support for your recommendations
  •  Collaborate with the team to develop machine learning models for both use cases and business accounts
  •  Support business and team with your knowledge in data science, machine learning, AI, and APIs
  •  Leverage your experience to create a suite of data-driven models to enhance the Rams’ targeted marketing efforts, including customer lifetime value, churn predictions, degrees and shifts of fandom, purchase motivators, attitudinal/behavioral clusters, and more
  •  Devise a multi-channel attribution model that is both holistic and beyond last touch
  •  Create projections and success metrics for future marketing activations and evaluate the effectiveness of activations once concluded
  •  Develop foundational marketing metrics, such as: customer acquisition cost by channel, value of an impression by channel, value of a subscriber, and similar
  •  Evaluate fan loyalty, effectiveness of fan loyalty programs, and fan loyalty reinvestment models
  •  Pull data and provide insights into consumer behavior/attitudes/demographics/etc.
  •  Build predictive and performance statistical models to understand fan likelihood to produce desired outcomes, optimize marketing and media approaches, construct fan segment schemas, and forecast future results
  •  Other analytics and team duties as assigned

Role Qualifications (Skills/Experience/Capabilities):
  • Demonstrated previous experience in statistical models, analysis, predictions, and algorithms for marketing purposes along with the software needed to complete these projects (Python, R)
  • Have completed or working on completion of a bachelor’s degree in related field required (Business, Marketing, Analytics, Statistics, Mathematics, or similar)
  • Experience with relational databases and data extraction software (e.g. SQL, SAS, Q, etc.)
  • Experience with common reporting software (e.g. Tableau, Power BI, Domo, etc.)
  • Experience with common digital analytics tools (e.g. Adobe Analytics, Google Analytics, etc.) preferred
  • Experience working within large datasets to compile fan/customer segmentation schemas and segment-level insights
  • Experience working extracting, cleansing, and formatting customer audiences for analytical purposes
  • Experience with Microsoft Office; Excel and Access experience preferred
  • Proactive problem-solve that is equipped to prioritize multiple tasks concurrently based on larger goals
  • Strong time management, interpersonal skills and the ability to multi-task within a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in delivering sound, meaningful results from ambiguous and/or not clearly defined requests
  • Ability to work flexible hours as needed, including but not limited to evenings, weekends and holiday
