Football Affairs Fellow

Position Overview

The Football Affairs Fellow will support the development and delivery of programs, resources, and experiences designed to enhance the well-being and overall experience of Los Angeles Rams players and their families.

Working within the Football Affairs team and alongside cross-functional partners throughout the organization, the Fellow will contribute to family programming, communications, events, onboarding, community-building initiatives, and day-to-day family support.

This fellowship provides meaningful, hands-on experience within a professional sports environment and exposure to player development, family engagement, event management, and organizational operations. The ideal candidate is a highly organized, emotionally intelligent, service-oriented professional who builds trust easily, communicates effectively, demonstrates sound judgment, and is passionate about creating positive experiences for players and their families.

Note: This is a 12-month assignment, with an opportunity to extend for an additional 12 months. 

Essential Functions & Responsibilities

Rams Family Organization & Support
  • Support the Football Affairs team in serving as a resource and point of contact for players, coaches, and staff partners.
  • Assist with communicating schedules, processes, logistics, team resources, and family opportunities in a timely and professional manner.
  • Assist with family needs related to gameday, ticketing, travel, team events, and other organizational activities.
  • Support onboarding resources and experiences for new players and their families.
  • Maintain the highest standards of confidentiality, demonstrate a player first approach in all interactions, and communicate only with individuals authorized by the player.
Family Programming & Events
  • Assist in the planning, coordination, and execution of family-focused programs and events throughout the year.
  • Coordinate event logistics, including invitations, RSVPs, vendors, food and beverage, supplies, childcare, setup, and breakdown.
  • Evaluate program effectiveness through participant feedback and identify opportunities to enhance the family experience through creative and meaningful programming.
Community Building
  • Support initiatives that foster connection, belonging, and community among players’ families and significant others by creating opportunities to build relationships and support networks within the organization and local community.
  • Support programming that helps families navigate the unique challenges associated with professional football, including relocation, time away from players, community integration, and social pressures.
Player & Family Resources
  • Develop familiarity with organizational resources available to players and families.
  • Assist with maintaining and organizing family-facing resources and information.
  • Assist with research and preparation of materials that support player and family education.
Team & Gameday Operations
  • Create and distribute weekly communications to players’ families, ensuring timely and accurate information for home and away games.
  • Support family-related gameday operations and experiences, including event logistics, vendor coordination, and stakeholder communication.
  • Assist with family programming surrounding training camp, NFL events, postseason activities, and other organizational initiatives.
  • Collaborate with Team Operations and other internal departments to help ensure a seamless and positive family experience.
Partnerships & Administrative Support
  • Assist with coordinating vendors, community partners, and corporate partners supporting family programming.
  • Help coordinate event enhancements, giveaways, experiences, food, and other resources.
  • Assist with tracking event expenses, invoices, vendor information, and other administrative responsibilities.
  • Maintain accurate family participation and engagement information in accordance with organizational privacy and confidentiality standards.
  • Assist with surveys, participation tracking, reports, presentations, and other program evaluation tools.
 
Qualifications

Required
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
  • Demonstrated interest in professional sports, player development, family services, community engagement, event management, or a related field.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and emotional intelligence.
  • Ability to build trust and establish positive relationships with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
  • Demonstrated professionalism, discretion, and sound judgment.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and follow player-first communication protocols.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across departments and with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Proficiency with standard workplace technology and communication platforms.
Preferred
  • Internship, fellowship, volunteer, or professional experience in professional sports, collegiate athletics, youth sports, student-athlete services, family programming, hospitality, events, community engagement, or a related field.
  • Experience coordinating events, programs, or community initiatives.
  • Experience working with athletes, families, students, or other high-touch populations.
  • Familiarity with professional or collegiate athletic environments.
  • Training or coursework in counseling, social work, sport administration, organizational leadership, psychology, communications, or a related discipline.
  • Mental Health First Aid, crisis intervention, financial literacy, or other relevant professional training.
 
Work Environment & Schedule

This is an on-site position operating within a professional sports environment that requires flexibility based on team operations, family programming, and organizational needs.

The Fellow should expect to work a schedule that may include evenings, weekends, holidays, training camp, gamedays, and other team or league events. Local travel may be required.

Confidentiality & Organizational Standards

This position may involve access to confidential information relating to players, families, team personnel, and organizational operations. The Fellow is expected to exercise the highest level of discretion and maintain confidentiality at all times.

The Fellow is expected to comply with all applicable team, league, and organizational policies, procedures, and standards of conduct.

Compensation: $21-$23 per hour, commensurate with experience. This role is eligible for overtime pay.
