The Director of Partnership Development & Strategy will be primarily responsible for the creation and development of full-funnel marketing partnerships to drive new business, incremental revenue and partner retention for the Los Angeles Rams. The role will involve partnering closely with internal teams (Insights, CRM, Sales, Marketing, Studios, Community, Ticketing, Player Marketing, Football Operations & more) to develop partnerships grounded in the Rams core brand values.

This unique role is best suited for a creative mind versed in operations, strategy and analytics. We are looking for a good listener, and team builder who can manage multiple revenue pipelines and empower their team of four (4) to build best-in-class partnerships that not only renew but grow their investments. This leader will establish the cadence and flow of our pipeline by working hand-in-hand with our Partnership Sales and Partnership Management leaders to manage our pipeline’s priorities.

Responsibilities:

  • Team Leadership:
    • Manage a team of four (4) high performing marketers
    • Work with the Partnership Strategy Department’s leaders to build IDPs for their team, set SMART Goals, and collaborate on Resource Planning and Department Goals annually
    • Continue to build upon the work environment where curiosity, hard work, and results as a team are encouraged and rewarded
  • Proposal Development:
    • Maintain the proposal pipeline for all new business, incremental revenue and bank utilization pitches
    • Manage the pipeline for their team of four (4) as well as leading their own book of business for Sales Leadership and Media & Entertainment Sales
    • Work closely with Partnership Sales team to identify the business objectives of a prospective client and translate those needs and goals into a holistic partnership plan
    • Communicate with internal stakeholders (Marketing, Rams Studios, Community, etc.) to develop holistic and strategic partnerships that meet the brand’s objectives
    • Responsible for ensuring effective communication between departments to facilitate collaboration and foster performance
    • Develop and level-up sales enablement tools including client proposals, term sheets, prospecting sheets, thought starter documents, decks, etc.
    • Work with internal creative team to maintain brand standards and develop compelling storytelling within partnership proposals
  • Inventory Management:
    • Proactively identify and capitalize on new partnership sales opportunities that support the brand and business
    • Oversee the maintenance of all partnership inventory (e.g., gameday assets, digital/social assets, etc.)
    • Evaluate and provide strategies to create new inventory based on current and historical sales data from all NFL teams
    • Work with the Partnership CRM Lead to streamline CRM, pipeline and reporting processes
  • Partnership Growth:
    • Collaborate with Partnerships team to identify strategic growth opportunities for the purpose of renewals and upsells of current partner brands.
    • Work closely with Partnership Management team to ensure we’re meeting and exceeding partners brand KPI’s.
    • Develop concepts for incremental opportunities and Media Bank use to exceed brand objectives provided by the Partnership Marketing teams
  • Innovation & Operations:
    • Create resources to empower the Sales and Management teams to build proposal materials, ex: inventory threshold dashboard
    • Work cross-functionally with Partnerships & other Departments to establish and operate transparent and efficient pipeline workflow process
    • Form interdepartmental relationships and work cross-department on partnership strategy development
    • Establish regular cadence for proposal and pipeline collaboration with cross-functional stakeholders

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 7 years of full-time experience in a fast-paced environment across Partnerships, Integrated Marketing, Product Development or another relevant role
  • Proficiency with Salesforce (CRM), KORE (inventory management), Asana (project management & workflow)
  • True team player with a passion for out-of-the-box ideas and a willingness to learn
  • Strategic and critical thinker who is dynamic, innovative, analytical and extremely well organized
  • Outstanding communicator with the ability to build robust working relationships
  • Experience with receiving brand objectives/KPIs to then create marketing or partnership campaigns, outlines and strategy
  • Ability to take initiative, work on multiple projects and communicate progress with the team effectively
  • Successful experience building and managing team of high performers
  • Proven success of building unique programs that reached partner objectives
  • Self-starter with strong organizational skills, who thinks proactively and is continuously identifying new marketing opportunities to tie a brand and property together as one.
  • Creative eye for developing marketing materials and presentations.
  • Must possess the ability to multi-task and frequently adjust to changing priorities and timelines while working under tight deadlines with short turnarounds.
  • Deep understanding of brand executions and marketing objectives
  • Strong sales skills with the ability to generate innovative platforms during the initial pitch, upsell and renewal process.
  • Exceptional project management skills which motivate both their team and them to achieve successful results in an efficient fashion.

Annual Salary Range: $110,000 - $130,000.
