Overview
The Team Mascot is a high-energy performer and brand ambassador responsible for entertaining fans, enhancing the game-day atmosphere, and representing the organization at community events. This role plays a key part in creating memorable fan experiences while promoting the team in a positive, family-friendly manner.
Key Responsibilities
Game Day Duties
- Perform as the official team mascot during home games
- Engage fans of all ages through crowd interaction, skits, dances, and photo opportunities
- Participate in on-field promotions, timeouts, and intermissions
- Assist with fan engagement activities such as contests, giveaways, and sponsor activations
- Maintain character integrity and professionalism at all times while in costume
Community & Promotional Appearances
- Represent the team at select community events, school visits, sponsor appearances, and charity functions
- Interact positively with the public to promote the organization and its values
- Support marketing and community relations initiatives as assigned
Additional Responsibilities
- Properly care for mascot costume and accessories
- Arrive early to events for preparation and warm-ups
- Work closely with game operations, marketing, and community relations staff
- Follow all team policies, safety guidelines, and performance expectations
Qualifications & Skills
- High-energy personality with strong performance and improvisation skills
- Comfortable interacting with large crowds and children
- Ability to stay in character at all times while in costume
- Physically capable of wearing a mascot costume for extended periods (standing, walking, dancing, light stunts)
- Dependable, punctual, and professional
- Prior mascot, performance, dance, or cheer experience preferred but not required
Schedule & Commitment
- Home game days (including pre-game and post-game activities)
- Select community and promotional events throughout the season
- Flexible availability, including evenings and weekends
Compensation
- Paid per appearance or per game (rate based on experience)
