Who we are: The Orlando Pirates are a professional football team that competes in the Indoor Football League. Going into our 9th year as an organization, the Orlando Pirates have made multiple title game appearances and won the IFL Championship in 2021. The Orlando Pirates play during the spring/summer and are looking to add promo team interns during the offseason in their quest for another championship.
Position Overview
The Orlando Pirates are seeking energetic and self-motivated individuals interested in obtaining practice and relative experience in the professional sports industry. This position will support the Orlando Pirates Community, Operations, and Marketing departments through onsite event activations and grassroot initiatives. Promo Team members will credibly and responsibly represent oneself as the face of the Orlando Pirates to current and prospective fans by assisting in community events. This is a temporary seasonal position and hours will be dependent on the appearance schedule.
Responsibilities:
- Represent the Orlando Pirates at local and regional events
- Enthusiastically interact with and educate the public on Orlando Pirates history, information, and ticket opportunities at community events
- Organize and manage department assets such as promo materials and giveaways, signage, equipment and various displays
- Assist in the set up and tear down of displays at community events
- Proactivity seek and engage with fans to generate leads for campaign marketing and to grow the brand
- Be an expert on the products and services offered by the Orlando Pirates
- Assist with a variety of activations during the Orlando Pirates off-season
- Other duties as assigned
Skills and Qualifications:
- Pursuing a degree in Sport Management, Marketing, or a related field.
- Knowledge of the game of football and the Orlando Pirates is preferred.
- Excellent people skills, with an ability to interact effectively and in a professional, diplomatic, and mature manner
- Strong social skills including verbal and written communication
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds.
- Must be available for events throughout the week
- Must be willing and able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by the team schedule.
- Must possess reliable transportation to and from team events.
- Exceptional work ethic, eagerness to learn, and a passion for the sports/football industry
