Who we are: The Massachusetts Pirates are a professional football team who play in the Indoor Football League. Going into our 6th year as an organization, the Massachusetts Pirates have reached the playoffs every season and won the IFL Championship in 2021. The Massachusetts Pirates play during the spring/summer and are looking to add to their championship organization.

Position Overview: The Director of Media, Content & Relations will be responsible for all media content for the Massachusetts Pirates from overseeing all social media platforms to creating, producing, and editing video content. Writing stories, conducting interviews, and ensuring a full staff of interns to accomplish all media tasks are essential to this role as well.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Shoot, edit and produce video content for social media platforms
  • Develop and execute content ideas designed to engage fans and brand recognition
  • Host, Shoot and Edit weekly video segments such as the team’s podcast 
  • Produce, coordinate and edit the team’s written content
  • Shoot and distribute video content to the league
  • Conduct pre/post-game interviews with players and coaches
  • Represent the organization as the main media contact, as well as pitch stories to different media outlets
  • Oversee the hiring process and supervision of the media department
  • Research, write and edit game notes throughout the season
  • Research and write all biographies for players
  • Travel with team to all road games and attend practices

Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Proficient with Adobe Creative Suite and comfortable taking the lead on all graphic design projects
  • Proven leadership and managing a team 
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Creative and analytical thinker
  • Strong writing and verbal communication skills
  • Must be a self-starter with a passion for the sports industry
  • Professional image and demeanor
  •  Strong organization and time management skills; ability to multitask
  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field
  • Minimum of two years of media/ sports experience
