ABOUT THE IOWA BARNSTORMERS: The Iowa Barnstormers is a dynamic, locally owned, highly successful indoor football franchise that is based in Des Moines, Iowa. The team has established a strong, loyal fan base and is looking for energetic, professional, and self-motivated interns to join their Promo Crew.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
Under the guidance of Barnstormers management, the Promo Crew will represent the Iowa Barnstormers at various community appearances throughout the year to engage with new and existing fans. The Promo Crew will:
- Assist with all set up and tear down responsibilities at all community and Barnstormers hosted events
- Be knowledgeable about all Iowa Barnstormers promotions and ticket packages
- Provide customer service support during every event to promote the Barnstormers, greet fans, new and existing, generate new members, and answer ticketing questions
- Accompany mascot, cheerleaders, dancers, and players to community events and take photos/videos as required
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Punctuality is required
- Able to support work on some early mornings, nights, weekends, and occasional holidays
- Strong interest in community involvement
- Earning college degree in sport management, event management, community relations, or another related field.
OTHER DETAILS:
- Internship will run from November through August
Promo Crew Interns will receive hourly pay.
You will gain hands on experience in the sports industry during the Iowa Barnstormers 2026 season. Our re-launched internship program features a variety of positions providing opportunities to learn and advance your career in sports. Interns will take part in every Iowa Barnstormers home game and assist in the front office and in the community throughout the season.
