ABOUT THE IOWA BARNSTORMERS: The Iowa Barnstormers is a dynamic, locally owned, highly successful indoor football franchise that is based in Des Moines, Iowa. The team has established a strong, loyal fan base and is looking for energetic, professional, and self-motivated interns to assist with the 2024 season.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
Under the guidance of Barnstormers management, the Game Day Crew will be responsible for assisting with all game day operations from set up to tear down during the Iowa Barnstormers 2026 season and will be required to attend all 2026 home games (regular season and post season, no exceptions) at Casey's Center. The Game Day Crew will:
- Assist with all set up responsibilities in the arena (field-level, backstage, and concourse levels) before every home game. This includes required office hours.
- Assist with on-field promotions during every home game including, but not limited to, contests, half-time entertainment, and special guests.
- Be knowledgeable about all theme nights and in-game promotions
- Assist with all concourse level activity during every home game including, but not limited to, customer service, promotional giveaways, managing and overseeing concourse activities
- Be responsible for tear-down and clean up of field-level, backstage, and concourse-levels following every home game
- Be responsible for setting up and cleaning up food and beverage in the locker rooms at every home game
- Be responsible for organizing, keeping track of, and returning all game day props and materials to the correct locations at every home game
- Be able to communicate clearly and effectively with all game day staff members over two-way radios throughout each game
- Assist with other operations related tasks as assigned
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Punctuality is required
- Be able to attend all Barnstormers home games at Casey's Center (April-July)
- Earning college degree in sport management, event management, or another related field.
This internship is unpaid.
