The Indianapolis Colts are seeking an experienced Director of Ticket Sales who will be responsible for promoting and selling all ticketing inventory, including full and partial season ticket plans, group ticket sales, and limited available premium seating inventory by leading a professional sales team. A strong focus on lead cultivation and database management to maximize lead development for multiple teams while providing leadership and direction creating a winning and fun culture. A proven track record of training and career development of sales representatives will be critical. The Director of Ticket Sales will report to the VP of Ticket Sales and Service and is responsible for developing and implementing a sales initiative designed to meet or exceed the annual sales goals set forth by senior management.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop and implement comprehensive sales plans to meet and exceed revenue targets, encompassing season tickets, group sales, and individual ticket sales.
  • Recruiting, hiring, and training Groups, Seasons, and Consumer Sales individuals. Create a long-term recruiting and training program to attract, retain, and promote sales executives within ticketing department.
  • Identify creative ways to sell individual primary tickets in an environment that is heavily impacted by competition from the secondary market. Assistance in management of pricing development, including season, single game, and group pricing.
  • Create and implement reporting on activities, touchpoints, pipelines and sales of entire ticket sales staff.
  • Oversee all aspects of ticket sales operations, including pricing, inventory management, database maintenance, and reporting.
  • Proactive creation, implementation and execution of organized sales/promotional campaigns for any products to be sold by the ticket office; includes coordination with marketing in the design and production of sales collateral for campaigns as appropriate.
  • Manage quality control of Colts ticketing sales and products to ensure brand integrity.
  • Create, monitor and manage budgets for assigned sales and service-related products.
  • Establish goals, benchmarks, and metrics to measure success for all new season tickets and group ticket revenue.
  • Oversee the group sales efforts and continue group sales success with the team’s current book of clients while building a new business with a consistent book of clients.
  • Create training/onboarding programs to share best practice, career development and a culture of learning and growth.
  • Provide overall office support which includes phone coverage, account maintenance, customer service and filing.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum of (5) years of experience in ticket sales with collegiate and/or professional sports team. 
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience in a leadership role in ticket sales with collegiate and/or professional sports team. 
  • Strong management and leadership skills with the ability to provide detailed directions to staff on the expectations for each campaign, as well as holding them accountable for what is expected. 
  • A proven track record at providing an in-depth training program that both provides initial onboarding as well as sustained career development. 
  • Ability to create, organize and manage sales leads from start to finish. 
  • Understand the impact of culture on the workplace and adapt to the culture within the organization and office, while creating a complementary culture within the sales group that fosters success.
