The Indianapolis Colts are seeking an experienced Data Engineer to play a key supporting role in the organization’s data ecosystem, contributing to the development maintenance, and optimization of data pipelines and systems that power sales, marketing initiatives, fan engagement, and analytics efforts. Working alongside the Data Solutions Architect, this role assists in transforming raw data into reliable, accessible, and actionable information for internal stakeholders. The Data Engineer collaborates closely with the Analytics & Digital Innovation, Marketing, Sales, and IT teams to ensure data flows efficiently across platforms and systems. The Data Engineer is a full-time position working at our main office at the Indiana Farm Bureau Football Center in Indianapolis, IN. This position reports directly to the VP of Information Technology and works closely with the Data Solutions Architect and the Analytics & Digital Innovation team. RESPONSIBILITIES
· Assist in the development and maintenance of ETL/ELT pipelines for ingesting and transforming data from internal and external sources.
· Support the integration of data into the enterprise data warehouse (Snowflake and Microsoft Azure).
· Collaborate with CRM, Marketing, and Analytics teams to understand data needs and deliver reliable solutions.
· Develop modeled data sets for commercial business in collaboration with DSA and Analytics & Digital Innovation team.
· Monitor data flows and troubleshoot issues related to data ingestion, transformation, and delivery.
· Maintain data quality through validation, deduplication, and classification processes.
· Contribute to documentation of data processes, schemas, and workflows.
· Assist in implementing data governance, privacy, and consent protocols.
· Support data security and compliance efforts.
· Stay informed on emerging data engineering tools and practices.
· Perform other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
· Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
· 2 - 4 years of experience in data engineering.
· Proficiency in Snowflake SQL/T-SQL and Python.
· Familiarity with Microsoft Azure and cloud-based data platforms.
· Understanding of APIs, version control (GitHub), and CI/CD workflows.
· Experience with reporting platforms, including modeling data in support of reporting and analysis.
· Preferred experience with Matillion, Melissa, Power BI, Salesforce, Ticketmaster, and Fanatics.
· Experience in the Sports and Entertainment industry is a strong plus.
· Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
