Job Summary:

The Paralegal at Hall of Fame Village powered by Johnson Controls (the “Destination”), part of the publicly traded Hall of Fame Resort & Entertainment Company (the “Company” / NASDAQ: HOFV, HOFVW), will work with our legal team to provide various support functions to our growing business teams, particularly in the areas of commercial transactions, intellectual property (“IP”), and real estate. Prior experience handling a combination of IP (particularly trademark and copyright clearance), commercial and/or real estate matters is highly desirable. This position will report directly to our General Counsel at the Hall of Fame Resort & Entertainment Company.

Primary Responsibilities:

This position will be responsible for duties as assigned by the General Counsel. The Paralegal will:
Support the legal team with general corporate and commercial matters.
Assist the legal team with a wide range of complex commercial contracts, including media and licensing agreements, service agreements, retail and office leases, confidentiality agreements and related legal documents.
Help create procedures and practices with the legal team to promote efficient workflows, including creating and managing form banks and templates.
Track the status of various contracts and documents, and prompt internal stakeholders regarding status.
Maintain repository of contracts and other key legal documents, as well as a system to track termination and renewal dates for follow up.
Assist with the creation and circulation of executive summaries for contracts and other key legal documents.
Work on projects and perform legal research on various topics as assigned.
Perform other general legal and administrative responsibilities as requested.
Support IP enforcement activities, including trademark and copyright enforcement.
Conduct trademark searches, review watch notices, and manage domain name registrations as needed.
Execute tasks assigned by attorneys and business leaders relating to the implementation of the Company’s IP strategies and policies.
Track status of IP matters, coordinate incoming and outgoing file transfers, and manage execution of formal documents to meet deadlines.
Review media projects in development to provide IP clearance and confirm compliance with applicable regulations, company standards and industry standards.
Other duties as assigned by the General Counsel.

Qualifications, Required Knowledge, Skills, & Experience:

Paralegal Certification highly preferred.
Minimum of 5 years of experience.
Team player with sound commercial and legal judgment, and strong analytical skills.
Strong oral and written communications skills.
High level of initiative, integrity, organizational skills, and ability to work autonomously.
Comfortable engaging with senior executives across a host of disciplines and business verticals.
Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends as necessary.
Remote work schedule may be available, but must be willing to travel to Canton, Ohio (or other destinations) as needed.
