JOB SUMMARY:
This position is responsible for buying, inventory control, web-site product assortment /content, new vendor opportunities and model inventory levels on categories / departments determined by the Merchandise Manager.
Job Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the profitability of the Packers Pro Shop through efficient buying, maintenance of gross margins, inventory control, and identification of market trends.
- Analyze key business metrics to identify and develop appropriate plans to drive sales as it pertains to supporting the Green Bay Packers fanbase.
- Responsible for the buying of merchandise with an open-to-buy strategy including writing and follow-up on purchase orders.
- Monitor incoming shipments to ensure they meet specifications and are being processed in a timely manner.
- Responsible for quality control and rectifying any product issues with their vendors. Resolving inventory discrepancies with finance and Retail Purchasing and Inventory Specialist.
- Maintain accurate product and pricing information across systems and platforms.
- Responsible for new vendor inquiries and reviewing new product opportunities and making recommendations to the Merchandise Manager.
- Participate in regular reviews to identify assortment gaps and implement best practices.
- Lead markdown process for buying department.
- Responsible for developing bi-monthly newsletter with product information & oversight of training materials related to products to the retail department.
- Assist Merchandise Manager with development of custom collections for multiple brands.
- Assist buying team as back up for A/R, inventory adjustments, and monitoring negative on hand inventory and investigating issues.
- Plan and oversee in-store vendor activations, trunk show, or promotional events.
- Position requires additional time as necessary, including nights, weekends, holidays, gamedays, & special events. Requires extended home game week hours, including but not limited to helping in the store during busy games/playoffs.
- Travel required for vendor meetings and buying trips.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Must have prior retail experience in buying and merchandising (minimum of 5 years, preferably in licensed sports or fashion).
- Undergraduate degree is preferred or Technical College degree with appropriate experience.
- Position requires hands-on and self-starting, take-charge individual with outstanding organizational skills. Strong administrative, communication & interpersonal skills.
- Proven track record in managing retail financial applications such as building & managing sales plans, operating open-to-buy, and working with margins & markdowns.
- Experience in developing and implementing promotional campaigns across all mediums.
- A positive-natured, outgoing person who works well on small and large teams with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability and willingness to adapt quickly to changing priorities and environments in real time.
- Working knowledge of Retail computer-based applications and common office PC tools. Exemplary skills in Excel or Photoshop a plus.

- Ability to sit for extended periods of time.
- Ability to remain in a stationary position for periods of time.
- Ability to focus on projects for periods of time.
- Occasionally lift and carry up to 25 pounds.
- Operates in a professional office environment.
- Role routinely uses standard office equipment.
