The Washington Redskins are seeking a creative, clever and innovative Social Media Manager to join the Digital Content department. The position will focus on the day-to-day content creation and management on the Redskins social media platforms while cultivating fan engagement and integrating sponsors with the Redskins team brand. The right individual has a sharp eye for content that draws emotion, provides information and tells a story. Applicants should have a strong understanding of social media platforms and digital trends, advancements and shifts. The coordinator should be able to communicate social strategy and tactics to all levels of the organization. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment, while keeping organized and maintaining high standards in all work. Attention to detail is a major key. Needs to be able to work as part of a team or individually.
 
Job Responsibilities:

  • Produce and publish compelling content on all Redskins social media platforms, including: Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, Snapchat, Pintrest, Reddit, etc.
  • Engage in one-to-one communication across social platforms to provide a unique experience for all fans
  • Identify (in some cases develop) and execute brand voice that is representative of the organization across different social media platforms
  • Work with the partnership marketing team to ideate, plan, execute, and report on social campaigns designed to integrate sponsors within our social channels
  • Create and execute paid social media campaigns to support internal and partner initiatives
  • Work with various organizational departments to ideate and plan how social fits in and supports campaign objectives (Marketing, Ticketing, Community, Retail, etc.)
  • Collaborate with internal and external graphic designers, videographers, editors and writers to produce fan-forward and engaging digital content
  • Track key performance metrics (fan engagement, growth, activity, etc.) and provide analytic reports  to both internal and external clients through daily, weekly and monthly reports in order to help track success and areas of improvement for all social initiatives
  • Live social media coverage and real-time content creation for various Redskins-related events (games, practices, Washington Redskins Charitable Foundation, etc.)
  • Identify and drive opportunities for emerging social platforms and potential new vendor relationships that can add value to the brand and the fan
  • Manage social media content calendar across all Redskins platforms
  • Assist with other duties as necessary
Qualifications:
  • Thorough understanding and familiarity of primary social media platforms
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Must possess superior writing skills and editorial judgment
  • Detail-oriented and strong organization and project management skills
  • Polite, positive, self-starter who works well with others
  • Strong knowledge of and passion for both football and social media
  • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
  • Must have strong mobile proficiency and be able to work on the move
  • Actively follow new social trends in sports and beyond and apply to Redskins digital strategy where appropriate
  • Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) are required; proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Premiere InDesign, Illustrator) is preferred
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Sports Management, Communications, Journalism, or related and appropriate majors
  • Must have at least 1-2 years experience working in a digital media role with a high-profile brand
  • Must provide own means of transportation to Redskins Park in Ashburn, Virginia
  • Must be willing and able to work non-traditional hours in non-traditional settings during peak times of the year
