Summary: Projects require the contribution and coordinated efforts of many different teams. The Project Manager plans, organizes, and oversees project teams to ensure work is done on time and in coordination with other departments. The Project Management Internship will let you see a variety of project types in action. You’ll work under the guidance of the Project Management Office (PMO) and may be assigned a project within a larger initiative. You’ll learn about all aspects of the project using planning, monitoring and controlling processes.        

 Duties and Responsibilities: 
  • Accurately define project requirements
  • Coordinate the delivery of projects
  • Identify and manage personnel assigned to each project and monitor and track progress
  • Coordinate and participate project meetings and communicate information/reports to stakeholders
  • Design schedules, assign projects, and translate creative briefs into real-time scheduled tasks and deliverables
  • Ensure projects follow established guidelines that ensure they are completed as efficiently as possible

Education: 
  • Recent college graduate (within past 6 months) or current student pursuing a degree in Communication, Business Administration, Marketing, Graphic Design/Video Production, Customer Service, Project Management, or related area

Preferred Skills:
  • Experience leading and directing projects
  • Ability to work on tight deadlines
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
  • Experience using computers for a variety of tasks
  • Competency in Microsoft (Word, Excel, Outlook), Adobe Acrobat, & Dropbox
  • Knowledge of file management, transcription, and other administrative procedures
  • Effective Communication & Time Management
  • Self-starter – ability to deliver with little direction. Knows when to ask questions
  • High attention to detail
  • Multi-tasking, ability to manage multiple projects all at different phases in the project Lifecyle

Notes:
  • Internship begins September 3, 2019 and ends December 6, 2019 
  • Internship is full-time (40 hours/week)
  • Internships are unpaid, with a $775 nominal monthly stipend, plus parking allowance
  • Reports to Project Manager
  • Position will be located at USA Football’s headquarters based in Indianapolis, IN
  • Must secure housing and transportation in Indianapolis 
  • USA Football supports interns seeking academic credit
  • Interns must identify learning goals and work with supervisor to achieve goals 
  • Examine the organization and its industry/environment 
  • Analyze and interpret functions and responsibilities 
  • Observe professionals in various roles and participate with them where appropriate 
  • Apply academic learning to practical and professional work experiences 
  • Learn how to perform specific tasks
