Overview:

USA Football is seeking a highly motivated and dedicated individual to join our team as the Events Intern. This position provides hands-on experience supporting the planning, logistics, and execution of USA Football's premier events and programs, including the U.S. National Team events, Talent ID Camps, Blitz initiatives, and various community programs. This role is ideal for someone looking to gain comprehensive experience in sports event management within a national governing body.

The Events Intern will report directly to the Manager, Events.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with operational and logistical planning for various programs and events, including U.S. National Team Events, Talent ID Camps, and other assigned events.
  • Provide support for the on-site execution and management of USA Football events and programs.
  • Manage critical event elements such as participant registration, hotel operations, catering and food & beverage coordination, equipment ordering, asset movement, and inventory management.
  • Assist with the organization and maintenance of storage units, and support event setup and teardown processes.
  • Support the recruitment and coordination of operational staff, volunteers, trainers, and other event contractors as needed.
  • Assist with pre-event communication efforts directed toward athletes, parents, and coaches.

Qualifications & Requirements
  • Prior experience working with a sports team, athletic department, or event operations is preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel and Word.
  • Demonstrated prior customer service and/or events experience.
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to handle a high volume of detail-oriented work accurately.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Proven ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Must be a self-starter with the ability to deliver results with minimal direction and possess strong judgment regarding when to seek clarification.
  • Ability to work on tight deadlines and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Ability to lift, push, or pull 50 lbs. on a regular basis and stand/walk for extended periods of time.

Education Requirements
  • Must be currently enrolled in or accepted to an accredited college or university, recently graduated from an accredited college or university, or currently enrolled in or accepted to an accredited graduate school.
  • A field of study in Sports Management or a related discipline is preferred.
