Technical Services: Programmer
The Software Development team at the Tennessee Titans is responsible for creating and maintaining software technology for our football organization, including the General Manager, Head Coach, Scouting, Medical, and Coaching staff.  We deliver tools and insights that enable decision making and drive football success.  The team is looking to hire a Data Analyst to assist with analyzing and maintaining our football data.  This individual will work directly with our football staff to grow our data maturity and deliver findings that impact our football operations.  This individual would also work with developers to maintain, integrate, and share data findings with the team.
 
Responsibilities:
  • Provide data and analysis on complex problems related to athletic measurement and performance
  • Access, migrate, and store data from a variety of data sources using Microsoft Access, SQL Server, or similar technologies
  • Retrieve and store data from Web APIs and database replication
  • Develop and execute SQL (or related) programs with direction and supervision
  • Perform all steps required to create analysis-ready data sets, including integration, migration, cleaning, and quality control
  • Develop and maintain reports and data visualizations using desktop analytics tools such as SSRS / Power BI / Telerik reporting
  • Assist with driving project timelines and expectations for key stakeholders
  • Collaborate with developers on how to best integrate and leverage key data insights 
 
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in analytics, technology, or equivalent degree / experience
  • 3 or more years of data analysis or software development experience
  • Experience writing and implementing T-SQL with Microsoft SQL Server (or comparable DBMS)
  • Experience with Power BI, SQL Server Reporting (SSRS), or similar data visualization tool
  • Ability to be self-motivated and proactive
  • Comfortable working on a small team in a fast-paced, competitive environment
 
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience designing and developing software systems
  • Experience with one or more of the following technologies: C#, WPF, Angular, Electron, Git, Python, Pandas
  • Experience building and deploying machine learning models on large / sparse datasets using structured and unstructured approaches
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms like AWS, GCP, or Azure
  • Experience working in professional sports and/or with sports statistics and data
