Technical Services: IT Database Management/Services

This position offers an exciting opportunity to join the New York Football Giants, collaborating and coordinating with Football departments including Scouting, Coaching, Football Administration, Video, Trainers and Data Analytics. 

This position is responsible for development and maintenance of internal applications, including league-leading video and scouting platforms. Additional responsibilities include software process functions, requirements gathering and other duties as assigned. This position requires a passion to learn and create. The ideal applicant will excel at working in a team-oriented, collaborative setting. 


  • Assist in the maintenance and support of current internal systems, while developing the next generation platform
  • Document and update documentation on next generation applications as written
  • Work closely with Football department staff to enhance the team’s ability to fully realize the value of the information available, reduce duplication of work and improve the effectiveness of departments 
  • Partake in internal discussions concerning end user feedback for improving and further 
    expanding solutions and services 
  • Assist the IT department when needed and as capable (Preferred working knowledge of basic networking, InfoSec, PC and server hardware, Microsoft Windows)
  • Respect and maintain privacy/security through courteous and professional interactions 
    internal and external to the Giants organization 

Working Hours and Availability:
o Availability to work flexible, extended and often unpredictable hours o Ability to be on call 24/7
o Ability to handle demands of a high intensity workplace environment 


  • Bachelor’s degree in a technology or Computer Science related discipline is preferred, Associates degree required
  • Minimum 3 years (preferred 5 years) relevant experience in application development, reporting and analysis
  • Demonstrable experience in database development (Microsoft SQL and MySQL) including functions, stored procedures, schema design, scalability and complex queries
  • Experience in object-oriented and .NET/ASP.NET programming
  • Familiarity with HTML5, CSS, JS Frameworks, Visual Basic, JavaScript, Python and other web development languages
  • Basic understanding of pros and cons of all major languages and technologies, so recommendations can be made to team on best practices for future projects
  • Possess the technical ability to learn new programming stacks as required
  • Familiarity with software processes (Source control, Problem tracking and resolution, Documentation, Agile Methodologies, DevOps, etc.)
  • Strong experience in all aspects of the SDLC, including the ability to establish and adhere to standards and best practices
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication (written and oral) skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Effective organizational, task and time management skills and a strong attention to detail
  • Preferred understanding and experience with Football-specific data
