The New York Jets are seeking a committed, innovative, and accountable Senior Accountant to strengthen our finance and accounting operations. The Senior Accountant will report to the Director, Accounting and play a key role in ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely reporting that supports organizational success. The ideal candidate possesses strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and thrives in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Manage general ledger activities, including journal entries and account reconciliations.
- Assist with forecasting and variance analysis to support strategic decision-making.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal financial policies.
- Support external audits and liaise with auditors as needed.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate financial reporting.
- Maintain and continuously improve internal controls and accounting processes.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field; CPA preferred but not required.
- 3-5 years of progressive accounting experience, including at least 1 year in a supervisory or lead role.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Business Central, Great Plains, or similar) and Microsoft Excel skills.
- Innovative problem-solver with a proactive approach to identifying and implementing process improvements.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, lead initiatives, and meet deadlines in a team-oriented environment.
Job Location: On-site in Florham Park, NJ (Atlantic Health Jets Training Center)
Salary range for this role: USD $75,000 to $90,000 per year and discretionary annual company bonus, dependent on the specific qualifications and experience of the successful candidate.
