The Manager, Photography & Archival Services is a strategic and creative leader responsible for helping shape, maintain and evolve the visual identity of the New York Jets. This role oversees the design, operation, and preservation of the infrastructure that supports photography coverage, archival systems, and asset delivery. This role oversee the team’s photography strategy, manages the visual archive, develops  and directs a network of freelance photographers and ensures excellence across both creative execution and operational workflows.

This position blends high-level management with selective hands-on execution, providing direct photography coverage for high-impact moments while building a system in which day-to-day capture and editing responsibilities can be delegated without sacrificing the brand. This role is central in building scalable systems and processes that serve cross-functional partners across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Photography Leadership
  • Continually develop the New York Jets’ photography strategy across all platforms and campaigns, aligning visuals with brand identity and content objectives.
  • Be able to serve as lead photographer for high-priority moments including game days, studio shoots, marketing campaigns, and storytelling initiatives.
  • Develop and manage comprehensive coverage plans, ensuring efficient delegation and execution across a team of internal and freelance photographers.
  • Act as a creative partner to content producers, social leads, and designers to deliver platform-specific, story-driven imagery.

Archival Infrastructure & Asset Management
  • Own the long-term development of the Jets’ digital asset management and archival systems, including metadata standards, and retrieval workflows.
  • Establish processes for the consistent intake, tagging, curation, and preservation of both historical and contemporary photography assets.
  • Manage access, rights usage, and licensing workflows in coordination with legal, marketing, sponsorship, and NFL partners.
  • Ensure the visual archive remains a trusted and accessible resource for internal departments, external media, and brand storytelling initiatives.

Team Oversight & Vendor Management
  • Oversee and develop a team of freelance and internal photographers, setting expectations for creative quality, professionalism, and coverage.
  • Provide mentorship and training opportunities for junior staff and seasonal hires, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and growth.
  • Serve as the photography department’s main point of contact for cross-functional requests, guiding timelines, deliverables, and expectations.

Operational Excellence & Cross-Department Integration
  • Design and implement sustainable workflows that scale with the organization's evolving content demands and campaign needs.
  • Proactively anticipate photo needs tied to key calendar moments, creative initiatives, and football operations milestones.
  • Ensure timely delivery of assets for use across social media, broadcast, web, community relations, sponsorship, and internal communications.
  • Uphold the Jets' brand through consistent visual quality and operational efficiency, serving as a trusted leader across the content organization.

Salary range for this role: USD $75,000 to $90,000 per year and discretionary annual company bonus, dependent on the specific qualifications of the successful candidate.  Company benefit programs for full-time employees include: robust medical, dental and vision insurance, flexible-spending and dependent-care account options, company-paid life, AD&D, and disability insurance plans, with additional voluntary supplemental term life & AD&D insurance options, and a variety of other health & wellbeing offerings; 401k plan participation (after 500 hours of service) with company-match and discretionary employer-funded defined contribution; PTO, sick time, paid maternity/parental leave; and access to tickets and parking for all New York Jets home games.
