The New Orleans Saints are seeking a staff accountant to perform accounting and clerical tasks related to the efficient maintenance and processing of accounts payable transactions.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities

- Receive and process accounts payable from all departments.
- Check status of bills (paid, overdue, etc.).
- Set up new vendors in accounting system.
- Send out W-9 forms.
- Code expenses on invoices according to departments.
- Input invoices in accounting system and compare balances.
- Print accounts payable checks.
- Prepare accounts payable reports.
- Print and file accounts payable reports.
- Separate checks and attach to proper invoices.
- Input all pre-paids and voids into system.
- Record all cash income on control sheet.
- Process and maintain petty cash.
- Process and issue meal money for staff and players.
- Assist auditors in retrieving necessary files.
- Help with NFL reporting package.
- Prepare 1099’s.
- Assist with monthly reports and GL analysis.
- Support Human Resources and/or Football Ops with players, coaching and staff relocation.
- Process Sales and Use tax reports and payments.
- Account for fixed assets.

Skills and Attributes

- Must be highly proficient in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and use of the internet. Knowledge of Navision and/or Paychex is preferable.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.
- Professional appearance and telephone manner is essential.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
- Skilled in multi-tasking.
- Dependable and conscientious.
- Ability to adapt in an ever-changing environment.
- Ability to exercise discretion and sound judgment while being exposed to sensitive and confidential information.
- Ability to adapt to seasonality and high profile nature of the football industry.

Experience Requirement
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from an accredited four year college or university and/or related applicable experience. Prior Accounts Payable experience a plus.
