About the Internship:
MetLife Stadium — home to the New York Giants and New York Jets — is offering an exciting Sports Field Internship for Summer 2026. This unpaid opportunity is open to students who will be enrolled as college juniors or seniors by September 2026, as well as post-graduate students who are interested in hospitality, customer experience, and live event management.
Internship Dates:
May 2026 through August 2026
(Minimum of 2 days per week + scheduled stadium events)
What You’ll Learn & Responsibilities
As a Sports Field Intern, you’ll gain hands-on experience in the unique, fast-paced environment of a major sports and entertainment venue that hosts two NFL teams, world-class concerts, international soccer matches, and large-scale family events. This internship offers a behind-the-scenes perspective on the “back of the house” work required to keep a multi-use stadium running smoothly.
You’ll work closely with the Sports Field Manager, Event Operations staff, and other departments across the organization, building a well-rounded understanding of stadium operations.
Key learning opportunities include:
- Sports Turf & Facility Maintenance: Assist in maintaining both natural and synthetic playing fields, including mowing, trimming, weed eating, irrigation repairs, and other turf management practices.
- Landscaping & Groundskeeping: Support upkeep of stadium landscaping and common areas to ensure a safe and welcoming environment.
- Event Conversions & Operations: Observe and participate in field conversions and stadium preparations between events, including the installation and removal of the protective flooring system.
- Concert & Special Event Support: Contribute to the Facility Operations team during concert load-ins/load-outs and assist with setups for a variety of special events.
- NFL Practice Facility Exposure: Gain a unique opportunity to observe operations at the NY Jets and NY Giants practice facilities during the summer.
This immersive experience will provide you with practical skills in facility operations, event preparation, and field management, while also giving you valuable exposure to the collaborative work environment of a major sports and entertainment organization.

- Be enrolled as a college junior or senior by September 2026, or be a post-graduate student.
- Strong communication and people skills
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and professional
- Ability to multi-task and adapt in a fast-paced environment
- Customer-focused with a strong desire to learn and contribute
- Capability to organize work, prioritize objectives, and exercise independent judgment while adhering to organizational policies and procedures.
- A polished appearance, positive attitude, and a collaborative spirit when working with colleagues across the organization.
Schedule:
This internship includes weekday office hours (2 days/week minimum) plus stadium events, which may occur on evenings, weekends, and holidays. A work schedule will be shared at least one week in advance.
