About the Internship:
MetLife Stadium — home to the New York Giants and New York Jets — is offering an exciting Special Events Internship for Summer 2026. This unpaid opportunity is open to students who will be enrolled as college juniors or seniors by September 2026, as well as post-graduate students. Ideal candidates will have a strong interest in planning and executing special events within a large-scale sports and entertainment venue.
Internship Dates:
May 2026 through August 2026
(Minimum of 2 days per week + scheduled stadium events)
What You’ll Learn:
As a Special Events Intern at MetLife Stadium, you will gain hands-on experience in the business and operations of large-scale events at one of the busiest venues in the country. Throughout the internship, you will:
- Observe and participate in the sales process for non-game day events, including identifying new clients, joining sales calls, and assisting with proposals and contracts.
- Shadow the Special Events team from start to finish to understand how events are planned, coordinated, and executed.
- Work with customers, vendors, and colleagues to strengthen communication and client service skills.
- Learn to use industry tools such as CRM systems (GATHER) and contribute to database management.
- Support the creation of marketing materials by organizing and maintaining event photos.
- Assist with the stadium’s tour program, including training tour guides and leading tours when needed.
- Participate in weekly staff meetings, department projects, and cross-department collaboration.
- Represent MetLife Stadium at private and stadium-wide events, gaining valuable professional exposure.
This internship provides an immersive look into the planning and execution of concerts, private events, family shows, soccer matches, and other large-scale productions in a premier sports and entertainment venue.
What We’re Looking For:
We’re seeking motivated students who are eager to learn and thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will:
- Be enrolled as a college junior or senior by September 2026, or be a post-graduate student.
- Have a strong interest in special events, sports, entertainment, or venue operations.
- Possess excellent organizational skills and the ability to prioritize in a multi-task setting.
- Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, and demonstrate strong listening skills.
- Work collaboratively with others in a professional, team-oriented environment.
- Be proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and comfortable with online research.
- Demonstrate flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays based on the stadium’s event schedule.
- Show initiative, reliability, and a positive attitude while assisting on a wide range of projects.
Schedule:
This internship includes weekday office hours (2 days/week minimum) plus stadium events, which may occur on evenings, weekends, and holidays. A work schedule will be shared at least one week in advance.
