Position Summary:  
The Assistant Director, Systems & Applications will serve as the organization’s subject matter expert in Microsoft Office 365, Azure, and enterprise endpoint management solutions. This role will lead the planning, implementation, and administration of our next-generation Microsoft cloud environment, including transitioning away from a hybrid infrastructure to a fully Azure-centric model. The position will oversee enterprise application management, cloud security configurations, automated patching, and backup/recovery solutions while ensuring optimal performance, scalability, and compliance.

This position is part of a fast-paced live entertainment environment with approximately 100 staff members, where operational needs will require working outside of the typical Monday–Friday schedule to support stadium events such as NFL games, concerts, and other large-scale events.

Essential Functions:  
  • Responsible for providing high level of customer service to both NFL teams, maintaining absolute neutrality on all team issues and protecting confidentiality of each teams’ information
  • Communicates effectively (oral and in writing) with NMS management, ownership and other stakeholders
  • Manage compliance with stadium, team, NFL and regulatory requirements (PCI DSS Compliance, HIPAA, etc.) the annual PCI DSS Compliance process and the software portion of financial and information security audits.
  • Cloud & Microsoft 365 Administration
    • Lead the migration from hybrid Active Directory to a fully Azure AD/Entra ID environment.
    • Manage and optimize Microsoft 365 services, including Exchange Online, SharePoint, OneDrive, Teams, and security/compliance features.
    • Administer Microsoft Entra (Azure AD), including Conditional Access, MFA, and identity governance.
    • Implement and manage Microsoft Intune for endpoint configuration, compliance, and application deployment.
    • Deploy and maintain Windows Autopilot for zero-touch provisioning and lifecycle management of devices.
    • Configure and manage Windows Autopatch for automated updates, security patching, and compliance.
    • Implement and manage TAP (Temporary Access Pass) for secure, streamlined access control.
  • Systems Management & Infrastructure
    • Oversee enterprise backup and disaster recovery strategies, including Veeam, Acronis, or equivalent.
    • Utilize Remote Monitoring and Management (RMM) tools to ensure endpoint visibility, proactive remediation, and performance optimization.
    • Ensure high availability, disaster readiness, and recovery testing for critical systems.
    • Collaborate with cybersecurity to align with security best practices and compliance requirements.
    • Monitor and optimize system performance, capacity planning, and cost efficiency.
  • Operational Excellence & IT Service Management
    • Utilize ITSM platforms (e.g., ServiceNow, Zendesk, Jira) for efficient incident, problem, and change management.
    • Develop and maintain IT knowledge base and SOP documentation.
    • Partner with the Service Desk to streamline escalation processes and improve SLA adherence.
  • Stadium-Specific Applications & Venue Technology
    • Support and administer stadium-specific applications and systems, including IPTV control systems, ticketing platforms, POS systems, broadcast and scoreboard control systems, and other venue technology platforms.
    • Work closely with event operations to ensure these systems are fully operational and optimized for game days, concerts, and special events.
    • Coordinate with vendors and internal teams to troubleshoot and resolve issues quickly, minimizing event impact.
  • Strategic Leadership & Project Management
    • Partner with IT leadership to define the roadmap for enterprise applications and cloud infrastructure.
    • Lead implementations from planning through post-launch review.
    • Provide technical mentorship to IT team members and establish operational best practices.
    • Stay ahead of emerging Microsoft technologies and recommend adoption strategies.

Qualifications:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.  The ideal candidate would also have:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience with Microsoft Office 365 and Azure administration
  • Strong expertise with Microsoft Intune, Autopilot, Windows Autopatch, Entra ID, and Conditional Access policies
  • Proven experience managing hybrid-to-cloud migration projects
  • Proficiency with enterprise backup solutions (Veeam, Acronis, or similar)
  • Hands-on experience with RMM platforms (e.g., NinjaOne, N-central, Kaseya, ConnectWise)
  • Practical knowledge of ITSM tools (e.g., ServiceNow, Zendesk, Jira Service Management)
  • Demonstrated ability to implement Endpoint Privilege Management (EPM) to eliminate static local admin accounts and leverage TAP/real-time privilege escalation
  • Solid understanding of cloud security, identity management, and compliance frameworks.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced, live entertainment environment.
  • Flexibility to work outside of the typical Monday–Friday schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, to support stadium events such as NFL games, concerts, and other large-scale events
  • Excellent problem-solving, project management, and documentation skills
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
  • Experience supporting and administering stadium-specific applications and systems, such as IPTV control systems, ticketing platforms, POS systems, broadcast and scoreboard control systems, and other venue technology platforms
  • Microsoft certifications (e.g. MS-102, AZ-305, SC-300) preferred
  • Familiarity with automation using PowerShell or Microsoft Graph API preferred
  • Experience in the sports and entertainment industry preferred

Physical Demands:
  • Position requires the ability to stand, walk, sit, use hands to handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms, twist, turn and climb stairs
  • Position requires the ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds

  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate, however, during events, the noise level may be loud;
