About the Jacksonville Jaguars

The Jacksonville Jaguars are a professional football team and a member of the National Football League’s AFC South Division. The Jaguars are one of the NFL’s youngest franchises, playing their first regular season home game on September 3, 1995 in Jacksonville, Fla., and have since won three division titles. The Jaguars are owned by Shahid Khan, a visionary leader whose businesses include Flex-N-Gate, Fulham Football Club, All Elite Wrestling, Bold Events and Iguana Investments. Since 2012, Mr. Khan’s impact on the Northeast Florida community has exceeded $500 million, including charitable giving through the Jaguars Foundation, capital improvements to TIAA Bank Field and the creation of Daily’s Place, which hosts upwards of 40 concerts a year. Over the next several years, the Jaguars and Iguana Investments will build a new Sports Performance Center to house all football operations and launch Phase 1 of the Shipyards, a complete reimagination of the riverfront which will include a five-star hotel, office building and modernized marina.

Summary

The Director of Business Analytics plays an integral role in the Jacksonville Jaguars organization as a member of the Analytics team. This person will work closely with various cross-functional groups such as marketing and sales and a team of data analysts to develop reports and models that support business goals. Successful candidates will exhibit technical acumen and business savvy by enabling both producers and consumers of data insights to work smarter and leverage data for revenue growth.

Job Responsibilities

Oversee the collection and analysis of complex business data identifying trends and opportunities.
Develop dashboards, reports, and visualizations to provide actionable insights.
Implement predictive analytics and statistical analyses to optimize business processes.
Build, mentor, and manage a data analytics team, emphasizing innovation and continuous learning.
Present data findings and recommendations to cross-functional groups in a clear and compelling manner.
Respond to ad-hoc requests from a variety of company stakeholders.
Identify opportunities to initiate new projects or improve existing processes.

Job Requirements

Required

Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics, Business Analytics, or a related field.
8+ years of experience in data analytics, business intelligence, or a related field, with at least 3-5 years in a leadership or managerial role.
Ability to prioritize and manage workloads effectively for both self and team, ensuring timely delivery of high-impact projects while balancing multiple competing priorities.
Proficiency in SQL and Python, along with experience using BI tools such as Tableau or Power BI.
Experience with statistical analysis and machine learning, including regression models.
Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey insights to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Background in A/B testing and customer segmentation.
Experience analyzing sales and marketing data.
Strong attention to detail and a commitment to ensuring data accuracy and completeness, making data more actionable for the organization.

Preferred

Master’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics, Business Analytics, or a related field.
Experience with AWS data products.
Familiarity with customer relationship management (CRM) applications, such as Salesforce.
Knowledge of ETL processes and data pipeline development.
Experience working in a sports organization.
