The Talent Acquisition Specialist plays a critical role in ensuring the Detroit Lions hire the best people who power our organization, especially on game days and within our early-career programs.

This role is ideal for a highly organized, energetic “go-getter” who thrives in keeping systems running smoothly, people informed, and details locked down. This role works with the Manager of Talent Acquisition to support recruiting operations, intern programming, interview scheduling, and candidate communication while helping the People Team identify and engage emerging talent.

This position requires exceptional attention to detail, strong interpersonal skills, and a service-oriented mindset. This role serves as a strategic talent partner for the roles that are foundational to making our team function. This talent partner will thrive on delivering an equitable, organized, and positive candidate and employee experience.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
The Talent Acquisition Specialist position will have daily responsibilities including, without limitation, the following:

Intern & Early Career Program Support

  • Oversee intern schedules, time tracking, and program logistics across departments to create a great program that connects emerging talent and gives them opportunities that last a lifetime
  • Assist with intern onboarding, orientation, and offboarding activities
  • Help maintain accurate records related to interns and early-career talent programs

Recruiting & Talent Operations Support

  • Support the full recruitment lifecycle through coordination and administration, including:
    • Interview scheduling
    • Candidate communication
    • Candidate screenings
    • Offer letter processing
    • Background check coordination
  • Maintain and update our applicant tracking system to ensure data accuracy and a positive candidate experience
  • Assist in posting jobs and ensuring postings remain accurate and up to date
  • Help identify and surface promising talent by assisting with resume reviews, sourcing efforts, candidate outreach, and interview participation

Talent Engagement

  • Help us find the best and brightest by supporting recruiting events and campus engagement efforts
  • Assist with maintaining talent pipelines and tracking potential future candidates
  • Act as an extra set of eyes, ears, and hands—jumping in wherever support is needed to keep recruitment and People Team processes moving

Cross-Team Collaboration & General Support

  • Partner closely with the People Team to ensure a connected and thoughtful employee experience
  • Support basic HR administrative tasks as needed (document management, tracking, coordination)
  • Ensure confidentiality and professionalism in all People Team interactions

NONESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Must be motivated, reliable, and able to work independently or as part of a team
  • Maintain professionalism when communicating with internal and external contacts
  • Must be detail oriented with strong organizational skills
  • Will keep appropriate information confidential
  • Will accept other responsibilities and duties required by the supervisor consistent with the objectives and essential functions of this position. Such responsibilities shall be incorporated into the position description if they are ongoing

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology, or a related field required
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in a recruitment-based role required; campus recruiting preferred
  • Experience with Applicant Tracking Systems or HRIS platforms required (Ceridian Dayforce and Greenhouse experience preferred)
  • Experience with program management and internship program coordination preferred
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills with exceptional attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple schedules, priorities, and requests simultaneously
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Comfort working with systems, data, and processes
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion
  • Collaborative, positive, and service-orientated mindset
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • May require work out of both the Ford Field Management Office and the Meijer Performance Center
  • A valid driver’s license and a good driving record
