We are excited to hire a Kitchen Intern for the 2024 football season! The Kitchen Intern will be responsible for food preparation and safety, supporting both back of the house and front of the house duties.
 
Responsibilities Include:
  • Assist with food preparation and safety by:
    • Following standardized recipes established by the Executive Chef and the Director of Performance Nutrition
    • Using appropriate ingredients and carrying out a variety of cooking methods
    • Demonstrating proper food handling protocol
    • Ensuring proper labeling of ingredients
    • Keeping ingredient room and kitchen properly sanitized in accordance to HACCP guidelines.
  • Contributes to front line and department team effort by:
    • Performing duties of line cooks and dishwashers
    • Other duties as assigned
  • Assists Executive Chef in responsibilities for catering needs by:
    • Ensuring food safety 
    • Providing on-time delivery
 
Minimum Requirements:
  • Associate or bachelor’s degree or currently enrolled and working towards degree in sports or clinical nutrition, business, hospitality, nutrition, or related field
  • 1+ years’ experience in fast paced kitchen setting
  • ServSafe certification required
  • Ability to work evenings, weekends, holidays and have a flexible schedule and travel as needed
  • Ability to use kitchen equipment including dishwasher
 
Preferred Expectations:
  • Desire to work in intercollegiate or professional athletics/sports-related field
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Knowledge of NFL compliance a plus
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Excellent organizational skills and handle multiple projects
 
In accordance with the Colorado Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, this position pays $18.29/hour. This position will work 40+ hours a week with overtime starting Spring 2024 and ending after the 2024 football season. 
 
This position will be located at the Denver Broncos Training Center in Englewood, CO.
