We are excited to hire a Public Relations Intern for the 2024 football season! This position will assist the public relations department in publicity related to the Denver Broncos’ communications efforts.
 
Responsibilities Include:
  • Assisting with the team’s credentialing process by:
    • Aiding the credential fulfillment processes 
    • Ensuring timely distribution of media credentials 
    • Producing Broncos home game and training camp/facility credentials for staff, visitors and media
  • Assist the media relations department with day-to-day communications responsibilities by: 
    • Coordinating the organization and distribution of daily executive news summaries
    • Maintaining a professional atmosphere in the media workroom and press box
    • Performing administrative tasks as necessary for the department
  • Ensure timely distribution of football communications to external media by:
    • Recording and transcribing players, coaches and executives during media availabilities
    • Assist with producing and compiling departmental content by:
    • Contributing to production/editing of content for press releases, media advisories, weekly release and flip card 
    • Coordinating, binding, and mailing of weekly packets to network television crews
  • Assist in team media responsibilities by:
    • Working every Broncos home game 
    • Attending training camp and in-season practice sessions
 
Minimum Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in public relations, journalism or a communications-related field
  • 2+ years of related public relations experience
  • Ability to work flexible/long hours (early mornings, late evenings, weekends, holidays)
  • Experience in the use of a PC, including knowledge of Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop)
  • Experience transcribing quotes
  • Knowledge of football statistics, social media platforms and/or analytic tools

Skills Test: 
  • A timed skills test may be conducted with those candidates that are qualified.
 
Preferred Expectations:
  • Strong writing skills and understanding of AP Style
  • Previous experience working with a professional sports team 
  • Reliable transportation
  • Problem-solving skills, attention to detail and capacity to thrive in pressure situations
  • Ability to communicate effectively with a variety of audiences 
  • Timed skills tests and an open-ended prompt will be administered during the interview process
 
In accordance with the Colorado Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, this position pays $18.29/hour. This position will work 40+ hours a week with overtime starting July 2024 and ending after the 2024 football season. This position will be required to work game days and/or events outside of a normal working hours as needed. 
 
This position will be located at the Denver Broncos Training Center in Englewood, CO.
