The Ink Room/Photomechanics Specialist is responsible for assisting the Photomechanics Coordinator with all tasks performed in the ink room and photomechanics processes.  The Ink Room/Photomechanics Specialist will help to execute all of the day-to-day tasks associated with the photomechanics process flow. Qualified candidates must be comfortable in a production oriented, fast paced environment that changes frequently and requires significant multi-tasking abilities.  The Ink Room/Photomechanics Specialist reports directly to the Photomechanics Coordinator and Production Supervisor.

 

Job Duties: 

  • Helps to ensure timely completion of all photomechanics tasks (emulsion coating, screen developing, screen imaging and wash out, screen taping, etc.)
  • Work with print press operators and production planner to make sure all orders have the necessary items to be completed accordingly at their press (inks, screens, printers guides, etc.)
  • Communicate any issues that will slow down production with the appropriate departments and leaders
  • Oversee the organization and cleanliness of the ink room
  • Utilize ink mixing software to mix necessary ink components
  • Establish and maintain effective relationships with various departments within BSG
  • Help monitor and manage supplies (Ink, Screens, Emulsions, etc.)
  • Help contribute to a safety culture in the BSG production room
  • Help to ensure strong quality control processes with ink mixing and photomechanics
  • Help to drive productivity and efficiency with ink making and photomechanics processes
  • Help to ensure compliance with production orders
  • Key partner to the production supervisor to communicate any issues and help troubleshoot
  • Contribute to the flawless execution of photomechanics processes
  • Assist with name badge program when needed
  • Perform other functions and activities as directed by the photomechanics coordinator and production supervisor

 

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED preferred.
  • Screen printing or screen making experience preferred.
  • Experience with print production inks desired.
  • Basic computer and technical skills preferred
  • Excellent verbal skills and ability to communicate effectively
  • Able to simultaneously execute a high level of detail
  • Excellent time management skills with ability to use independent judgment effectively
  • Able to demonstrate flexibility and quickly adapt to changes while maintaining high levels of productivity
  • Able to work well within a team environment, offering assistance and support to team members when necessary
  • Able to work weekends and possible holidays
  • Able to work 7AM to 4PM and longer if necessary
  • Bilingual in Spanish preferred
