PRN CT TECHNOLOGIST
JOB DESCRIPTION
The PRN CT Technologist is responsible for performing diagnostic imaging procedures for interpretation by, or at the request of a licensed practitioner. This role requires technical expertise, attention to patient safety, and the ability to work flexible, as-needed shifts while maintaining high standards of quality care. The PRN CT Technologist reports to the Office Manager of Blue Star Imaging and is a PRN position based in Boerne, TX.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform CT scans according to established protocols and physician orders
- Prepare patients for CT procedures, including explaining exams and addressing concerns
- Ensure proper patient positioning and image quality
- Administer contrast media as required, following safety guidelines and protocols
- Monitor patients during procedures for adverse reactions or complications
- Operate and maintain CT equipment; report malfunctions as needed
- Adhere to radiation safety principles and ALARA standards
- Accurately document patient information, procedures, and imaging data in the electronic medical record (EMR)
- Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations
- Collaborate with radiologists, and other healthcare staff to ensure optimal patient care
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment
Qualifications
- Minimum 1-year clinical experience in CT
- Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program
- Registered Radiologic Technologist (RT[R]) by ARRT
- Advanced certification in Computed Tomography (CT) or CT registry eligible
- Current state licensure
- BLS/CPR certification
- Ability to work independently and adapt to varying workloads
- Familiarity with PACS and EMR systems
- Prior CT experience in an outpatient imaging setting is preferred
- Ability to assist and position patients, including lifting up to 50 lbs. with assistance.
- Physical stamina to stand for hours, bend, lean, squat, and/or sit as needed throughout the day.
- Manual dexterity to operate equipment and computer systems.
- Good vision and hearing for accurate assessment of images and patient communication.
