JOB SUMMARY: This position supports the Hunt Family Foundation, the 501(c)(3) charitable arm of the Kansas City Chiefs, and its community outreach efforts. The role involves collaborating with internal Chiefs staff, nonprofit partners, and community organizations to advance the Hunt Family Foundation’s mission. Responsibilities include managing a variety of incoming requests, coordinating communication with community stakeholders, and providing essential administrative support for Hunt Family Foundation initiatives. Success in this role requires sound judgment, strong organizational skills, and the ability to represent the Hunt Family Foundation with professionalism, along with experience or interest in philanthropy, outreach, marketing, communication, and leadership.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Philanthropy:
- Engage with nonprofit leaders, community organizers, and civic partners seeking funding to understand needs, assess alignment, and strengthen long term community relationships.
- Manage the processing of all Hunt Family Foundation payments, including grants, donations, and contractual disbursements, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely execution.
- Assist in the preparation, coordination, and submission of NFL grant applications, including gathering data, drafting narrative components, and managing deadlines.
- Support the development of impact reporting for NFL related grants by collecting metrics, partner feedback, and program outcomes.
- Monitor and track program impact, media coverage, partner visibility, and key outcomes for internal reporting and organizational storytelling.
- Assist in managing all aspects of the annual Hunt Family Foundation Grant Cycle, including application administration, communication with applicants, and coordination of cycle logistics.
- Track and compile final impact data for all year end donations to support transparency, decision making, and reporting accuracy.
- Manage all outgoing and incoming mailings, correspondence, notices, and distributions on behalf of the Hunt Family Foundation with professionalism and consistency.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the Senior Manager of Philanthropy & Community Impact or department leadership, supporting cross team needs and special projects.
Community Programming:
- Support the planning, coordination, and execution of community outreach initiatives, including preparing communications, distributing information to internal and external stakeholders, and assisting with event logistics.
- Assist with planning and executing all operational components of the Chiefs Charity Game, including partner engagement, logistics, communications, and event day support.
HOURS REQUIRED:
- 40 hours per week and events/game days, including some nights and weekends.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds for office duties and activities.
QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS:
- Bachelor’s degree
- Interest, education, or experience in philanthropy, nonprofit, or community engagement roles.
- Strategic thinker with sound judgment and the ability to make thoughtful, mission-aligned decisions.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects with strong attention to detail and follow-through.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; able to present ideas clearly and respectfully.
- Strong relationship-builder, comfortable engaging diverse stakeholders across sectors.
- Analytical and results-oriented with a practical approach to community investment.
- Knowledge of the local nonprofit and civic landscape is strongly preferred.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and comfortable using digital tools and databases.
- Must be able to handle confidential, privileged, and/or sensitive information with care and with sensitivity.
